*shameless bump*
This has been a major pain in the ass for me lately.
As a new player - I'm getting rather fed up with "bad ass super tank" mentality.
My game goes from "enjoyable" to "high stress have a heart attack" because of someones inability to think past his own armor codpiece. (pardon the color-isms)
Yes...I have survived (not succeeded) many "super pulls" - but this makes my dungeon experience horrible.
All in the name of.... an extra minute or two of successfully finishing a dungeon?
You don't gain anything from it....I fail to see the benefit of such a mindset.
If i get yelled at for failing - I'll just be blunt - stop pulling so much.
If they don't like it..they can kiss my white mage rear end and leave. :P
Sadly..I've started leveling a tank myself - and ill be considerate of my party over myself - tanks don't do crap without the party...always been the case. Their purpose is to soak aggro...not make kills.
Tanks dont make kills - they soak aggro so DPS can kill and healers can heal.
When your healer is doing more damage than anyone else - its either because the tank is doing a superb job or DPS is doing a bad job.
When DPS is tanking - Tank isn't doing his job.
Healers don't tank.
There's a reason the system was designed this way - why people push it to its limits is understandable - but don't do it at the expense of others.
Like when I experience skalla for first time...and all I get are people whining about "Gated mobs" and mechanics.
