I'd say it was a beast of a game. Today, it's just antiquated and cozily nested in nostalgia. They would have to revamp the mechanics entirely if they'd want to attract AND keep players. Which, in turn, would possibly make it a different game that "looks like old XI". I loved my years spent playing it, but if they brought it back, updated graphics and all and kept what I loved back then I don't think I'd bother....Quote:

Tupsi. A few things being similar doesn't mean all things will be similar. There are already considerable differences from XI in the XIV lore. It doesn't matter how many similarities you point you out because it's not a perfect 1:1 from XI. Just because 1 part is similar doesn't mean all of it will be. Any assumptions that the rest of the primals act like XI's primals are just that. Assumptions.

I dunno why people are complaining about Fenrir. I never played XI, so the only FF incarnation I remember is the esper from FF6, witch wasn't THAT awesome.
Other then that Fenrir has a connection to Odin in Norse Mythology, nothing justify a position amonst the FFXIV primals.
Besides, they said primal are done after expansion. And it was long esthablised that the 6 elementals primal are Ifrit, Titan, Garuda, Levi Ramuh and Shiva. Unless they release a new element, I dont see why we would need another beast.
Alexander, on the other hand, thats gold coil material.
Odin, well he's there.
Siren MAY have deserved a place, then again look at the powers of the others. Does her heritage feel as powerfull as Leviathan or Ifrit? Not really.
Garuda's a surprise, but you can't put Typhoon or you compromise the lore for Ultros, witch is comic relief. Garuda in FF3 was quite an icon, and she's very well done in ff14.
Where does the Moogle king stands in all this? I dunno. -

Every FF game there's shared and sometimes you have "beasts" and "humanoids" for example that share elements. So they don't always have to be beasts in all a Primal appears to be is just aether, which can shape into anything.Quote:
