Atmas - Unfair for low level players

If a lv50 player wants to participate, they will have to hit the level sync button.

On a serious note, No, I'm not actually trolling~ I'm fairly angry that I have been lumped together with the elitists that the OP is complaining about~

running a 4person atma farm with 4 reserved spaces for low level players so we can help them get gold (Party participation counts in fates), I'm apparently as bad as the groups that kick low level players for no reason~

Going to throw out there that telling someone to "get off my server" sounds elitist in and of itself.

And if you'd taken the time to read OP's posts, you'd see that they already mentioned a while back that they don't include EVERYONE in Balmung into the elitist pool. They stated that Balmung as an overall server is very elitist, not that EVERYONE in it is elitist. Just that a large portion of the server is. Large portion =/= every single person on the server.

Personally I've never stepped foot on Balmung, and all I hear about it is stuff from roleplayers who are on that server, so for all I knew, it was the main RP hub of FFXIV. So no, it wasn't because Balmung "is a pit of elitism and villainy". Your own words lended to the "wow that person sounds like a sarcastic jerk".

How are they trolling by asking that this already horrid system for Atma farming be fixed slightly so that lower level players actually have a chance to get gold in FATEs without being forced to join a PF group that they'd be disadvantaged in anyway due to not having a mount? And from what I gathered, the OP claimed that you did something opposite of what you claim to. At that point I don't take sides, since it's their word over yours and without actual proof, neither of you can prove you're being truthful of that claim, so I don't give a crap what that was about.

My personal thing is, telling someone to "Get off my server" in itself is very elitist-like, regardless of whether you are or not. The reason I say this is because I had to take abuse like that from a former FC member who fancied himself an elitist and kept telling me to "get off his server, I don't want no filthy casuals on Ultros". So pardon me if that statement comes off as elitist.

Regardless of whether you personally feel the OP is "trolling" and "using lowbies as an excuse", the fact is that the issue they bring up IS an issue for some servers and something DOES need to be fixed with the Atma farming so that it doesn't hurt lowbies as much as it is in some areas. So once again, just because you personally don't think it's a problem doesn't mean that the problem doesn't exist. That's like people saying "there's no lag in Titan" solely because they haven't experienced lag.

Atmas are a bad example of grinding. They should make grinding fun again!

But you forget that level synced equipment still has better stats than the equipment for made lower levels. (Stat-wise, ilvl 90 gear synced to 30 will still be superior in every facet than any level 30 gear of the same type).

Say a group of full ilvl 90+'s joins a FATE, their level synced stats gained from equipment are still a fair bit better than people at that level. Their damage output is more significant, and even with FATEs adjusting depending on how many participants were in the last one, they still burn really fast with overgeared levelsynced players.

These Atma farmings are in low level places. FATEs in low levels are really made for low levels, not lvl 50s.

I've been leveling PGL the past couple days, and I've been getting golds consistently without much trouble (and without a PT or chocobo). If you're getting bronzes in FATEs you have to change your tactics.

Here's how FATEs work. It isn't about how many enemies you get credit for killing. It's about how many times you are able to execute a skill on a FATE target. The key in a crowded FATE is to be constantly switching targets and tapping as many as you can. It doesn't take a lot to get a gold rating, and you don't have to stay in the FATE area to get credit. So you do enough in one FATE so you know you'll get a gold, then you check your map and start heading to the next one.

If you go into it believing what the General Discussion Piss & Moan Club tells you about them being "boring, mindless grindfests", then yeah you're gonna have trouble. If you pay attention and know the mechanics, it goes real fast and it works quite well.

Kind of saw this happening with ATMA current low drop rate.

Unless ATMA drop is at a decent rate to get a proper balance of lvl 50s from being stuck in 1 area too long there will be a lot of lvl 50s stuck in low level areas fighting the RNG God while low level players are left behind because the lvl 50s are swarming the FATEs.

When you are leveling your first lvl 1 to 50 class/Job it will still requires a few FATEs here and there to make it to your first lvl 50 but current ATMA quests has made a bit difficult for new players to join FATEs.

As of now I'm waiting to see how this issue will be handled once Relic ilvl 110 (2.3) and Relic ilvl 120 (2.4) is released.
