It's only a 0.3 difference. Why would there be a whole 1.6 difference for a Machinist? Makes no sense in my head, unless there's something I'm severely missing and/or forgetting about the Machinist?

I mean, my point from the start was that my mch is an undergeared sideclass that I'm mediocre at, and even if you drop the ~20 dps heartbreaker usually gives I'm still pulling higher than the number someone gave as ok average mch parse. If I misunderstood what you meant and came off as bragging, I'm sorry about that. I'm not here to brag about having Big Numbers, I literally don't care about my mch numbers at all, I just wanna help people know what they should be expecting to parse.

Those are not my numbers, they are from the OP's post on the first page (was too lazy to make a quote, hue). My guesses would be ammo adding potency to skills, hot shot, procs, rapid fire and free crit modifier.

And these last couple of pages remind me why I hate forums. Egos fighting each other over stupid things. Sigh. Can't we just have a civilized debate for once without it degenerating into a fight?

Anyway, just did some testing at i191 on my FC dummy. No food, no pots, no chocobo, no other party members, no stance dancing except for during first and third Wildfire for extra AA hits and I average about 1050 over 4minutes and 30 seconds myself. I hit about 1690 on my original burst and stayed around 1150 for a while until it dropped to 1000-1050 during the last 45 seconds or so. I also had a lot of dry spells on procs (not sure if dummies are bugged are not, but except for a QR in there, I had about 10-11 non-procs on split shot).

Might want to check the parse if it is detecting Wildfire. Your burst DPS should be higher than that. Your DPS looks pretty good to me. I roughly hit that much also under those conditions. Procs and crits heavily determine it, but on a really good parse I can stay past 1100+.

Wildfire was accounted for, but don't know if it factored into the parse or not. I did notice a couple of times Wildfire went off and my dps didn't budge, which makes no sense. I don't have a ton of luck with Wildfires. I think my highest burst was in A4 where I hit 8.5k with no food or pots and a drg. On one of my parses today, I hit like 5200 on the opener, despite a perfect rotation and then later in the same fight, I messed up a bit and hit 6900. It just seems very random for me. I've been practicing multiple opening rotations, but without pots or anything else, I can't seem to break more than 7.2k with with most around 6.8k.

Guess I'll just keep practicing. Next time I'll try it with some food and maybe I'll head to Tailfeather so I can use my chocobo for the dex buff.

Ive noticed that using pingzapper made my opener alot smoother. Before I had pretty often those casts that get interrupted or start a bit late but now i'm consistently getting good WFs

My ping is usually between 15-30 ms, sometimes hitting about 50. I can't get much better than that (and I wouldn't want to pay to do so).
