I will say it of been in bit of a bad taste considering the last time they joked about this was when they show everyone the Hrothgar hair on Apirl 1st and that was kind of a bit condensing.

Sadly, I think the people who most need to hear it are the ones who will refuse to listen to it, and the people who realize the value of what you're saying are the ones who don't actually need to hear it. Look at the small cabal of dedicated complainers about everything, and the one thing they seem to have in common is taking the game ultra-seriously. FFXIV isn't that. It's something to be played for fun, and has one of the best stories and soundtracks you'll likely ever find in something that's primarily meant for fun.
*knock on door*
*It's Mr. Yoshida*
*He leans forward and gives a single kiss on my forehead*
*before I am able to say anything he shuts the door on my face*
*it's somehow locked again*
*log in XIV*
*It's a single player game with instance housing, fixed healers, classes feel unique again, tons of hair options and working armor for every race*
*retcons parts of the story to the point the story is coherent again*
*cash shop items are now earnable in game*
What a dev!
IMO, if those people actually took things seriously, they would actually make a more solid effort to have their concerns reach the team. Some people are just too wound up and want to fight anyone that disagrees with their ideology. I've been told to look at this thread and that and there's so much fighting and attacking going on. Show me all the real points of data that I might possibly change my mind on something.
There are people that actually take things seriously and give proper feedback which reaches the team.
Are you getting upset at people seeing the same old song and dance from MMO devs in large companies chasing money once the IP has been established and good will garnered? Are you really calling that an "ideology"? I wish we would just go full modern WoW and be done with it, lol.
In that vein WoW is a few clicks away if you'd like to head over there lol
Jokes aside I think you completely missed that person's point. Nobody here can factually say why we only get space increases and why we haven't gotten a full overhaul. People then ASSUME as you have it's all about money chasing. Some of us say we don't work at SE and this we can't claim it's about money. It could very much be them having issues doing so. It could also be they plan to wait til the graphical overhaul in 7.0 (which would make sense). The issue is to many are caught in the mindset of "no it's this because I say so". Or the folks demanding changes or fixes while being ignorant to the situation on the devs side. Trends are only that, trends. They don't say 100% what will happen or why something is happening
Runescape fell from grace because they chased money.
EQ and EQ 2 fell from grace because they chased money.
WoW fell from grace because they chased money.
Warhammer online fell from grace because... well a lot of things, but also because they chased the money (a little too hard going by the fact that their account system charged some customers repeatedly, lol)
Sorry for assuming. :^)
