Hence why I emphasised the OP creating a thread versus merely commenting on an existing one. They went out of their way to highlight getting a plot despite knowing the overwhelming majority didn't. Likewise, people have no social obligation towards the OP, thus aren't liable to care. Most of the posts I have seen aren't necessarily directing their anger towards her but the idea she wants to "discuss" the positivity over a much maligned system. It's the equivalent of making a thread regarding the positivity of RNG. Not to many people will like that subject, even if they won't rage towards you, specifically, for getting lucky.

Right, but the person fired isn't going to feel all that motivated to partake in your celebration. That doesn't mean they should attack you personally, but it's perfectly understandable they aren't going to be in a good mood nor want to discuss all the new benefits you'll get.

Yes, but simultaneously that would mean that the person would just not show up, or simply not participate in the celebration.

The same way that if people have an issue with this thread, they should just not reply to it and ignore it, moving on with their life.

That is my ultimate point. Arguing just to argue or posting just to post seems to be a constant thing in these forums, I guess.

I got a plot but making threads like this is not helping any. My issue is that 4.1 was the same thing as 3.3, and a bit shocked that didn't get an apology letter and this one did.

But the TC did that very thing to me mocking my disability before, this thread was def not made with good intentions. I am only commenting because I keep seeing it bumped, I was ignoring it for a while now, as you see this is my first post here.

I guess winning a plot in a low pop server deserves someone to make a gloating thread, whatever.

So, basically you want everyone who didn't get a house to simply congratulate you on getting a house (which is the positivity you're posting about) or have others tell a story about how they got a house (which in turn ensures that other people who wanted a house could not get a house)?

I'm not going to tell you that you're bragging post is "too soon" after the debacle; You got a house and others didn't. Hurray? But really, just be honest with your post instead of trying to hide behind saying this is positivity.

It boggles my mind why the OP thought this thread was a good idea, with zero thought going into how the majority of people would react.

Expecting people to react positively to a post on such a topic considering the circumstances of you getting your house is either you being hopelessly naive or being expertly dickish.

Having a bit of awareness of your audience is key here, since it's the equivalent of walking into a room of homeless people and screaming "MAN, I SURE AM GLAD I HAVE A ROOF OVER MY HEAD IN THIS HOUSING CRISIS!"

Our fc managed to get a large house - but we were on a low pop server, so didn't have the nightmare that others apparently did.
Now, my sincere hopes that the actions being taken by the development team can resolve the housing shortage.

I don't really see a problem with instanced housing. Wandering round our Shirogane mist ward yesterday evening, there where only a couple of other players around their respective houses. Having different instances isn't really going to change this.

The way it was handled was wrong, made worse by the fact the most people could see this coming a mile off.

Hopefully the many reactions they have had will make them realise that this has got to significantly change.

Yeah, I had nightmares about housing all night because getting a bigger house for my FC was all on me since I had the money we saved up on my character. I woke up to my friend telling me about the launcher issues. We just barely managed to get a medium in Shirogane in the least desirable location (the medium facing the small plot near the northeastern subdivision aetheryte). Honestly, the whole ordeal burnt me out from housing. Now that a week has passed I feel a bit better about it. I like our location, overall. Was just disappointed that all our hard work didn't end up meaning much (although, it wasn't surprising that things played out the way they did).
