Exactly what my friends and I said when we saw people start losing their minds over stuff they know nothing about.

I've been waiting 2 expansions and have heard the same things from players amd developers alike.
They've added some good abilities and changes to healers, now just give me the things they took away. Give me my dots back, give me selene back, give me useful control over my faire back. Make it feel like I'm an actual contributing member to the party instead of a tag along.
I don't really care how wonderful their content design is. Make the jobs fun to play at all levels and it doesn't matter if you're facing an ultimate or a training dummy.
Tbh as I said earlier this will lead to nothing, and 95% of these people will just default to their class come DT, Gamers are notoriously bad at boycotts and can't wait to get their next shot of dopamine, even most of the redditers agree to this point, there's very few players who say healings awful but they're just changing to DPS which is fine, this lil boycott from a few people will amount to little or nothing.
Unless ALL these healers start cancelling their subs and not purchasing DT nothing absolutely nothing will happen until at least 8.0 when the job revisions is being looked at.
It's not only not a small number of people but when these sort of things crop up, unlike other games FFXIV community actually means it. But the other thing to note that's a bit off with your statement, they've done mid cycle adjustments to jobs. Shadowbringers being one such example. Scholars were boycotting the job and complaining about some of their changes. SE literally did what those players asked and this was in early into the expansion even. But that in itself is a problem, healers haven't been listened to by SE until there's a "gun" at their head. So this is going to do something, it's more how long before it happens.
Engaging in discussion when you have nothing to contribute is what I would consider childish. "The um...akctually kind of child behavior I would expect from an elementary student." But again, you are free to troll, not like there is moderation to these forums anyway. Do note though, that this thread contains several people sharing the same sentiment, and going about it saying their opinions are not worth the time...when this is the forum for said opinions, is quite annoying and disrespectful. Especially since what happens from it is not up for you to decide. So please, if you have nothing to discuss, why are you here?
Putting aside the fact that the media tour had people doing dungeons without a healer in questing gear, it's crazy to think that they are suddenly going to change the healer philosophy they have been working with for the last several expansions. Heck, I remember back during the EW media tour when people were coping with the "Surely this means the battle content will have more to heal right?!"
This is an interesting idea, but it would be helpful if the OP contained a brief manifesto of the points that need to be addressed before the strike is lifted.
From the link you could infer that it's related to healers being redundant in Dawntrail content due to excessive tank healing output (read: WAR), but I'm sure that there are other discussion points that you want to see addressed as well.
If it's not spelt out to them with actionable points, then you won't have the impact that you want.
What would you know?

You don't even do content. How would you even know what to compare against LOL
Lets see if I still have posting privileges.
Sadly every SMN that reaches cap will also automatically have a SCH along with it so CBU3 can say "Look at all these max rank SCH's! They must love the job".
I gave WoW another try a few years ago and the healing was so good. Just as good as I remembered. Heal interactions, constant incoming damage to the entire party, cooldowns on almost every heal so you couldn't spam the same one, HoT timers that mattered, a lot of single target triage, healer-only mechanics, mana management and juggling of who to heal and what to heal with.
Hey Community Managers or whoever else is reading this? The healer feedback obviously hasn't gone to the devs for the past five years so I'll make it simpler. Could you pass along just one message? Ask them to hire a healer designer who has healed in other games. We would not even need to compile feedback if the dev team had one of those because they would just know.
The reason some people are celebrating BLM losing non-standard was because they didn't want to play it and didn't like that it did like 2% more damage in certain raids. People are always mad about dumb stuff even though its perfectly viable to completely ignore it.
im going to be running 0 healer roulette PF in dawntrial for no other reason than because we simply dont need them. and the sad thing is.. if you do this.. the game actually becomes hard again because you NEED to communicate with you team and plan out mits and heals..
mental.. i know
They had one and fired them when they started to get too good at healing.
And then they had the nuts to say "We don't know what to do with healers!!" Like I don't know... maybe you could ask someone that knows??? When I don't know something, I ask. Apparently, this had not been the immediate answer for the devs...
The entire combat design is made out of DPS and Xenos(for tanks). There is no healer in there.
This thread is so overdramatic lol
asked for changes for years... did not get them -> escalate situation; seems reasonable to me!
im laughing
Uhhh.....
Please cite some sources or I'm going to assume this is either an outright lie or delusional head cannon?
Meanwhile, here's me complaining that we were already spending FAR too much time spamming GCD DAMAGE almost 3 years ago.

Give me something to do that's not mashing one button to infinity until the point that the RGB in my glare key has failed and I honestly wouldn't care.
HW/SB AST was fun even if I didn't have much to heal. ARR/HW SCH was fun even if I didn't have much to heal. Why? Because both offered layers and complexity. I had things to do that weren't mashing the same button 10 times in a row.
I support this thread. If you support it too, make sure to thumbs up the OP, since that helps get the message across.
Washed up old ex world prog raider who never really adapted well to how the meta shifted through HW. I mention this because IMO this is the absolute worst situation to be in as a healer. If you take some pride in your performances and understand your kit and cooldowns to the point where you see the folly in wasting GCDs insta topping/overhealing people and panicking needlessly, that's where you start realising just how barren healer gameplay outside of Savage prog and up is. And of course, as a washed up old retired raider, I spend most of my time in casual content. And it bores me to tears.
Again, missing the point here. It's not that dungeons need to be the strongest showcase of healer need.
Healers just need something to do in dungeons. Doubly so if you get a War/DNC or whatnot that's doing their best to yoink what little healing there is.
Spamming 1 of 2 buttons endlessly isn't it.
Dawntrail is already finished. There's no use asking for a change. There are two ways out:
1) Hope that the new foray content will replace all four-man content for tomes and relics. No healers should be required. You can't queue roulettes without a healer, so those forms of content will just have to die. Raids can be cleared with non-standard parties in PF as usual. No one will miss the absence of healers and the game will be better off without hallway dungeons, so nothing of value will be lost. Many MMOs and RPGs don't have a healer class either and you will likely enjoy forays more.
2) If #1 isn't possible, make The War Within more popular than Dawntrail. You all will have to go back to WoW where healers actually exist. If #1 is impossible it would likely be due to forays sucking or not even existing, which is typical for Square Enix. No forays would mean that Dawntrail would be worse than both Endwalker and WoW and you can safely leave the game without missing anything.
I'm sure a couple of people will be sad to see healers in FFXIV die off, but most people will be fine. It's a video game and healers were always trash in FFXIV. Don't pretend that Cleric Stance made anything better, because it didn't.
And if you really, really want to heal in a video game, may I suggest not letting a woman do a man's work?
They will change things if there's enough demand, and you can que roulettes without a healer, just have to group up first.
As a warrior main this is supreme content. Good stuff.
Wait, wait, wait.
You mean to tell me the dedicated 'healer mains' who scream 'you pull you tank', that haven't put any damaging abilities on their bars are on strike?
I wholeheartedly support your strike. Honestly, you should take it even further and refuse to queue any dungeons as any job, that'll show them.
I’ve been healing since ARR phase 3 beta. It has been so disheartening to see healing gameplay destroyed across the expansions. I support this strike.
I've been doing my part for 5 years. The healer role in this game is a joke.
I find far more enjoyment playing DNC in PvP and landing a double-value curing waltz heal on a teammate than playing a real healer in any PvE content.
You know, it warms the heart to see so many people coming into threads with a premise that they disagree with and mock everyone who agrees with the OP.
Truly the greatest MMO community in the known universe, WoW could never. :)
If they didn't care they wouldn't post. I wouldn't be surprised if some were absolutely petrified that if a strike somehow succeeded they will have to adjust to the changes. Not just changes for healers, even tanks and DPS might have to give up their goodies. The push back from a "laughable" and meaningless strike is very interesting. Obviously the push back is for entertainment value only, surely.
Doesn't matter which community, they all act the same in the end.
After healing all through ShB and EW, I won't be touching the role come DT and will leave them right at lvl 90. Shame, since I've been playing support/healers for more than two decades in MMOs and its my favorite role, but FFXIV's supports is a travesty.
Yeah it's funny, right?
The problem WoW healers have is that damage is spiky and unpredictable and stressful to respond to, but they're still expected to contribute DPS while responding to it.
Then in FF14 damage is predictable and healing becomes easier the more familiar the group is with bloated healing toolkits that are overkill for what they're asked to do, but the DPS rotations are too simple.
It's like WoW's healers have the toolkit for FF14's fights, while FF14's healers have the toolkits for WoW's fights.
This is so stupid lol
