Isn't that just a mineshaft railtrack? For mining railcars?
My japanese is too crap.

Well but at least we got some railways. So we have the preparations made for doomtrain!
I feel happy.
Thats not Timat or nidhog obviously
just because the pic name was tiamat doesnt mean he is Tiamat
that 5 headed dragon or whatever it is is a Hydra obviously i mean come on he doesnt have wings either XD
just take a look

anyway i guess this will Shut players mouth for a while (those who are saying no 2.0 @ e3)
I know what you are aiming at, but.. in the early FF-Titles Tiamat actually was 5-headed, blue and had no Wings. He changed a lot as more Titles came out and was totally different in XI and XII for example. I would assume Yoshi is really going back to the roots with some Enemies.
Its not Tiamat obviously! The file-name just contains Tiamat, which is completely randomized.
This not Taimat?

I've read these forums for a while now and never posted. After seeing these screen shots and planned concept art, I have to say I am ecstatic. Thank you to the development team for all the improvements this far, and for the gorgeous 2.0 display. Can't wait to see more.
The first couple shots in the OP reminded of Crystal Chronicles so much. I need to play that game again! Anyways its looking really good. Like others have said it doesn't matter that much how awesome it looks. FFXIV looks awesome as is now imo. Its just content, and atmosphere are the big things that matter in the end. I'm hopeful it will all be great. We'll see soon!
i'm so exited again
nope the one in the art work isnt for a reason ofcourse.
check both of the heads of them they strike quite a resemblance both are snake heads if you look closely and not a dragon head.
Yoshi and 2.0 team are trying to bring XI players back to XIV just look at Fenrir mandragora cait sith.
imagine if Ultima Art work was called bahamut most of the players including you maybe will say its bahamut we cant argue SE right?
and why did we say its ultima because it stroke a resemblance to VII Ultima with the exception of cloud sword ofcourse.
the screen shots look good. BUT. The same thing couldve been said when final fantays 14 first came out to. im still gonna wait for gameplay to judge 2.0. But even still to that Their trailers even showed stuff we still dont have like the Blue Shield that was casted to protect the party from the fish or the Caster who made the Arrow turn into fire and kill the Marbolo.
I think the 2.0 version looks way better than the version we have right now. Who said it would have lower res? The game looks amazing!
Skies has been so gentle took an hour of his time to find the old bitching about low-res screenshots with dev post. The effort made him an hero and should posted here, so maybe we can put an hold on this bitching

I think it's Tiamat.
Yoshi is correcting the mistake that FFXI made.
FF Tiamat has traditionally been portrayed as:

http://images3.wikia.nocookie.net/__...stiamatpsp.png
http://images.wikia.com/finalfantasy...iamat-FFIX.jpg
http://images1.wikia.nocookie.net/__...tiamat_psp.png
FFXI Tiamat was an aberration:

My guess is that the FFXI devs had a needed a dragon name and decided to use 'Tiamat' long before they had considered making a multi-headed dragon model. (which ended up as Hydra):

But yeah, I'd say this is Tiamat:

So where are Lich, Kraken, and Marilith?
Oh my goodness the male Miqo'te! [passes out]
Thank you for posting these, can't wait!!
@OP the images seem to be broken, think the site doesnt like hotlinking. Can use the ones hosted at Pads if you'd like http://xivpads.com/E32012/screenshots/
damn, has anyone seen anything on E3 yet? ive been watching it all day and havent seen anything about ffxiv. im starting to think im not gonna see anything. all this screen shot stuff looks amazing i want to see more!
"All the screens we've seen thus far have been from the PC version, said Yoshida. The quality will go up by about 15% from what we're seeing now." and "Also, it's designed to be extremely customizable, allowing it to run on high spec PCs, low spec PCs and PlayStation 3."

I think people really should wait before calling foul on the graphics. Perhaps it might be a small step down in the end but it also might not be depending on how highly customizable the game really is. It looks great as is though in my opinion.
I disagree wholeheartedly and completely. Tera is pretty compared to a lot of mmo's but I would not trade XIV's graphics for Tera even now during pre 2.0 because they don't come close, XIV is superior. Still, people can play both games if they want or one or the other, choice is fun!
Thanks!
Now I have much more wallpapers to enjoy :D
plus 15% quality boost doesn't say much about if there will be AA options or not. Maybe hes referring to solely the textures.
LOL my reasonable nature in a Lodestone environment comes from an 'insatiable Lodestone user attitude' immunity buffer generated by an over-excitement that comes from being exposed to photos of male Miqos.
And this is an interface question:
Anyone know how the little tiny colored squares on the bottom right side of the 2.0 interface work? I heard some place that they were inventory or mog bags but my question is what does the color scheme mean and why is one shaped like a U?
if you can see from the 2.0 announcement pic and the new SE pic there isn't any real changes, i'm starting to think that wasn't an artist rendition of the UI but the actual UI during the 2.0 announcement.

I think they said the first picture was the real deal. Rukirii even posted about the old screenshot having the old tiered moves because they still exist in the current 2.0 build apparently.Quote:

You can put the current exp bar in the same spot, so what about it? :/
Also in the previous s/c, unless you're talking about the U-shaped bag...
Great find :D
Already pointed that out.
Enemy HP bar got a few graphical touch-ups. Also the second row of buttons on the hot-bar are the same size as the first row. Other than that, I think you covered everything.
