It looks like he intentionally played it in an embarrassing way that he would have more down time to derp around. Someone who is actually playing healer will avoid all overhealing and enmity generation possible, which is something that you can't do if your healing comes entirely from using Medica, Medica II, Regen on targets. I'm sure the tank had to work overtime to carry this "healer"

See above. If you are playing a DPS character, you have like 5 actions that you can roll through to maximize damage, and several DoT's that are either given by using those actions or as separate actions. Repeat.

If you are playing WHM, you can play ALL content using only Cure and Medica. If you want to give yourself some breathing space, Cure II and Regen work as long as the Tank says to use Regen on them. Otherwise you're just telling the mobs there's a tasty WHM who wants to be the tank.

Healing actually requires thinking about what to cast, not just constantly spamming the most powerful party heal and then sit back and do nothing. Maybe this is why Tanks think healers have so much down time, the people playing healers are trying to make the Tanks job harder than it needs to be.

Yeah, that fine line between being completely clueless and being an obvious troll has finally been crossed. But I sent her regards to the tank on that video and he had a good laugh, so at least something good came out from that! :D

Yes, people see it as an issue but that really doesn't change reality. I would *love* to have enough healing to do that I wouldn't have time to touch my DPS spells in dungeons, but that's not the case so holding my breath and stamping my feet yelling "this is not what I signed up to do!" accomplishes nothing.

This is basically the thing that a lot of people don't seem to get. On multiple occasions I saw in that PSA thread "the encounters should be designed THIS way!".... but they're not. You can hope and pray all day that the encounters will change so that you don't have gaps to DPS in but currently those gaps do exist and you should DPS in them. This is just how the game is and plugging your ears to try to shut it all out doesn't do any good for anyone. If you don't like that you have to DPS as a healer and a tank, then you can always either play a DPS (which you're going to find out isn't all that different from being a tank or a healer in this game) or you can quit doing battle content (or quit the game in general). Alternatively, you can be the real toxicity in the community and refuse to work with your team as so many choose to do.

Finally checked her Lodestone profile and yeah, no one who has cleared Coil and Alexander Savage raids as a healer would ever say this with a straight face. I just don't get why people want to waste their time trolling this discussion (I guess they find it amusing in some way, I just don't see how).

Did it ever occur to you that maybe I've opted not to play that content, or maybe there is just never anyone in the DF that actually wants to play that content? For whatever reason on Primal, you can spend all day and not a single person will queue for these things. Play Savage content with a static that you've trained with, you aren't going to PUG it.

If you want to do Coil or Alex Savage you're gonna have to use the Party Finder, Duty Finder isn't gonna cut it. You don't really need a static to clear anything atm, if you put the effort in you can clear it all. Some people even pug when the content is still on lockout or they do fill-ins for statics so it's really just down to if you actually want to do it or not.

And you can also go to SE and ask them to please make it so. Whenever there's a Q&A on a fanfest or live letter or some other occasion, you can try to sneak the question in, you can go the old fashioned way of sending letters, you can make forum or reddit petitions on the matter etc.

You can try to actively push towards it and be constructive about it. You can toss out ideas for potential more engaging healer kits, throw out ideas for encounters that might achieve the goal, you can do mathcrafting to find some good numbers that would work, you can try to find and brainstorm alternate solutions to issues like skill and gear disparity etc etc.

All that has a far more realistic chance of achieving something than yelling at other players.
