Both platforms have their problems.
As someone who plays games on both ends of the spectrum, I can say that both ends have their issues. As of late I've been playing on the PS3 due to the fact my computer has been dying, but that was due to necessity. To be a bit on topic with the OP, YES I have been seeing problems with staying connected while on PS3. Friends on PC haven't had these problems as well.
What I read here can be summed up in a few lines. "HURR PC MASTAER RAEC CONSULS SUX!" "PCS IS STOOPID AND FR CASULS"(Good lord that hurt to write, I apologize) And for those that think consoles last 10 years, that was one generation. If that's how you think all generations of consoles are supposed to be then you are rather entitled.
My point of view for "ending" this petty argument(because it is).
You want a box you can drop next to the TV, hook up and start playing? Get a console.
You want power and something you can tinker with? Get a PC.
Unfun fact: PSN is always down. EVERY. DAMN. DAY.

I've got a wireless mouse and keyboard on it that sit on my coffee table in front of me. I exclusively play games that use controller on this machine. Lots of games these days are cross platform to PC and many have controller UI's built in such that the experience is identical to console, but with far better graphical fidelity. That said your simplification is adequate for most people.Quote:

On topic: There isn't anything that SE can do with PSN being down. It is Sony's call requiring that certain functions require the PSN servers for authentication.
Off topic: PCs, PS3 & PS4 are great for gaming. End of story. Slightly unrelated - I have a Rock Candy knock off of a 360 controller and FFXIV recognizes it. I don't use the controller to play as I am more familiar with mouse & keyboard. -

Of course a decent pc, even a low end one, will be pricier than a console. Things get muddled a little when you consider monthly subs for online access and extra controllers and whatnot but PCs get just as crazy. A lot of people are definitely confused about the cost of a decent pc. One comparable to a ps4 in price wouldn't even be worth building imo. I'd rather save twice the money and double down to do it right instead of scraping by with the reqs for 1 game.Quote:

Weather it's a cheap router, cheap modem or cheap service, either way his personal experience with connection isn't PSN.
