Letter from an Angry Puppetmaster. (To Cyranda and SquareEnix)

Cyranda, we have not met, but I really would love to shake your hand. I do not think you could have summed up my emotions with any greater literary craftsmanship. My name is Nezha and I'm a PUP diehard on Fenrir Server. I have literally played no other job since PUP came out. I have sat through all the false hope SquareEnix has given us, and I even told myself last update that it was okay that SquareEnix forgot about us as long as they had something nice planned, I was willing to wait. But no.... they weaken the job? I'm sorry SquareEnix, but you can take you lame attachments and useless weapon skills back. I have done everything for this job that I can think of. I wasted 2 years of my life getting Kenkonken, I slaved for weeks in Abyssea soloing Verethragnas. And the update everyones been waiting for, that I need not remind you, should have been a long time ago, is just a mere slap in to the face of the entire Puppetmaster community. Burattinaios revolutionized PUP, it was the first time I could solo damage deal worthy foes without needing to use SpiritReaver frame. It finally gave us, the well deserved power to say "the hell with parties and LS events, I can do it and get it myself". To me playing Puppetmaster, was playing a whole different game, so much strategy went into mixing Head and Frame combinations, attachments, and gear, unlike mindlessly spamming weaponskills or magic as a Samurai or Black Mage. I went through all this trouble, to final allow people to see the greatness that "was" Puppetmaster, and for what? Just to be stifled yet again. So yeah, lets bring back the LOL PUPs, and "<Puppetmaster><No Thanks.> I must say not only am I very disappointed with SquareEnix, but I am also on the verge of quitting FFXI for good. Obviously if you thought that your shiny WS and new attachments was compensation, you have a thing or two to learn about Puppetmaster (Did you guys actually test this stuff???) I'm apologize for my blatant rudeness, but after all these let downs this was the straw that finally broke the Automatons back. But I doubt you guys even read these anyways... so much for transparency. In any case, I'm starting a new Puppetmaster LS called FUSE... I'll let you figure out the meaning. Now recruiting... Let the Puppetmaster movement begin.

from the way the new attachments and WS's work and the burts nerf... i dont think any1 at SE has ever really played the job... if they did they would have made on comment about it atleast on the forums already... but i guess wyvern color and npc placement is more important :/

I was actually hoping some LS members would help me Convert my T2 and get me those H2H that I obviously wouldn't be able to solo the NM for. But now I wont be needing them anymore since they are broken, I suppose getting the -Damage Taken Magian Trials H2H would be the next best thing for my ValorEdge that I was going to replace for the Burts.

totally agreed with nezha, i've read of your adventures on talk pages on various baddies and challenges you've overcome. It really makes me angry when I see updates like this, they keep, literally, putting band aids on a gaping wound. Even to this date they only add confectionery fixes that doesn't help the job, ignored blatantly terrible AI, and introduced even more conflicting and terrible WS's ( VE's Ws isn't bad but still ), as well as attachments with incredible collateral requirements for poopstain returns.

I haven't gone as far as your crazy accomplishments and kenkonken, but ever since I lvled pup and discovered this gem in the myriad of jobs, it was a keeper. It has been a road of getting lifted into the air and dropped to the floor on various occasions and the sheer lack of consideration in their recent updates have me /jobemote pup'ing.

What really drives me nuts on this forum is how Garbage concerns get the dev teams utmost attention. It leads me to believe this forum is just for saving face. Every major concern was met with " We can't do that, it would take too much time ". Honestly they're going to lose more than people of the pup community, they're actively rehashing old garbage and slapping fancy names to them. They keep inventing crap content that requires specific 'triggers' that further alienate jobs that didn't have good standing in the generally accepted mob psyche to begin with.

Clearly all knowledgeable and intelligent approaches made, Anza to name a one, have been completely ignored. Core problems with the job simply overlooked on a problem they even claimed was a problem ( The AI ) a while back. What is going on with this dev team? are they cutting and pasting a template, programming a random stat generator on their Iphone, and plugging them into new gear, then googling archaic names of lore for gear names? Everything they have been doing is gungho, up-side-fracking-down.

I'm generally understanding with modifications to the job, I usually am not this expressive on forums as I tend to keep from posting unless necessary, but THIS.... * smashes face into monitor *. I'm also sick and tired of the masochistic people who take it and claim " They're doing their best ". And the sad part is, they're probably listening to you people lmao. I don't know anymore. If nothing changes with the effort of an orderly and peaceful means of persuading the dev team to take a good look at what they're doing. I'm probably gonna be out of faith to stick with the title.

not AS angry as you (I just got pup to 83), but even as a new pup I'm disappointed. The burritos thing... a nerf was fine with me as they did seem a bit overpowerred (I was thinking a reduction to 5/tic), but what we got was clearly overkill. More concerned about the AI not being addressed, no dialogue to suggest it ever will be addressed, and the changes doing alot of damage to our attractiveness in parties.

Seriously, the lolpup thing kept pup out of alot of parties for years, but at least it had utility as a soloer. End-game that sufferred a bit, but atma coverred some of that. Along came burritos, making your non-mage pups very viable, and-BONUS-they work in that great big world that doesn't have atma, too. SE has taken that away entirely with their nerf. Burritos now provide 1 extra WS every 100 tics. You'ld be better off with a weap with pet Store TP +6 if I remember the math on TP accumulation correctly. Me, I just started an Emp weap for pet acc/racc since the non-mage pups seem to always be lacking in school. Too bad, I was building for burritos non-mage and my +MAB for mage. At least I have my NPC now to help with the 2nd trial while I level it up.

Get with the program SE, you have ALOT of angry pup players that would like to have a chat with you, but that's hard to do when you are apparently speaking with a deafmute.
