I find it hilarious adding another category requires a lot of work and cost, how bad is this game built.
What about a separate auction house or AH window just for Wanted items only instead of a merge? Just copy and paste the code and change a few values so you post money for an item and the person "buys" your money with the goods they possess.
Get a few interns working on the game as volunteers so they can put the programming on their resumes. In this time of financial crisis, especially after nature's angry waking, having people help the game for free (in turn for resume credit--get some students!) could be a huge benefit.

I would have to agree, as this could be a very beneficial step for improving the game. There has to be some way to do this while having it work with the stone-age ps2 that clings for life.
Just be honest and straight up with us, how much would it cost. If the players want it that badly I can tell you right now SE can earn enough funds for it through one method or another.
Sell items like the tidal talisman's again and tell players that the funds generated by these products will go toward game improvements such as these. It's our game too that we play, some of us for years, and we would like it to be improved just as SE would like more money~
I can't see any better way than that. SE already sells products like watches, plush toys, keychains, so on. Offer in game items as a reward for our purchase and the funds generated are for development of the game. I'm not very business oriented but that sounds like a great plan to me~
Could skip the item manufacturing all together and just sell us the in game item, that's all people really care about >.>; lol
"Come buy a giant stuffed chocobo furnishing for 10 dollars! You can even pick your own color out of a variety of 6 colors! All funds go toward game development!"
Bet you'd get a few hundred sales doing that one~
Some days, this would really help. But really all you have to do is see if the item is instock.
The other day, I was trying to get the Kampfbrust set for my lv. 30, and I had to wait quite a bit for the foot-gear to come in. Whatever, though.
Loving FFXI again...

Yes, n00b stats, but it's all I have!!!
/t me ingame and we can play together!!
Item name (quantity in ah) (wanted)
atm the item menu looks like this:
- price history
- bid
- sort
would it be possible to add a wanted button and when u hit it, it adds a "1" in the (wanted)-column.everytime one is sold, the (wanted)-number goes down by 1 point or alternative would be:
- bid
- sell
- sales status
- wanted (max 10 items, if u don't want more or u got it u have to manually remove it)
you wouldn't need to programm "the sent and recieve" implement, because ppl would still need to run to ah to bid manually for the things, also u don't need to programm "who wants it and for how much".
in my opinion the advantage of this system would be,that the crafter can see if there are ppl out there wants those items, this will raise the chance to be able to buy some uncommon stuff at the ah.
dear, dev-team would this be possible?
Edit: pls make it at least possible to leave a note that u have interest in an item

My post was more about the excuse that SE can't do something because money is tight. I'm just saying they could make an effort to raise the money if they really cared enough about it. It's not just about a wanted section on the AH i'm talking about the whole game and "too expensive" excuses.
I do like the idea of a Wanted/Crafter board, but since the GM said that the Devs didn't think they would be able to implement it into the current Auction House system, why not make it a separate entity entirely?
Maybe add a new building in Lower Jeuno near the current Auction House (Across from the AH next to that building where you purchase maps perhaps?) that can act as a sort of "Trading Post" that can also house the Wanted/Crafter board. Can also add one in Aht Urghan Whitegate too since it is still a "hub" so to speak.
This could be a great way for players to see what items are in demand, go out and farm those items for the player wanting said items, and earn some gil in the process. Could be great for crafters who are needing certain items for skill ups.
I think there should be a Dev tag on this thread, this is a great idea.
You've been trolled! You've been trolled you have probably been told, "don't reply to this guy, he is just getting a rise out of you," yes its true you respond and that's his cue to start trouble on the double while he strokes his manly stubble. You've been trolled you've been trolled you should probably just fold when the only winning move is not to play! And yet you keep on trying mindlessly replying, you've been trolled, you've been trolled, have a nice day!
