Gotta love the title eh. Only reason I choose it was to get back at the person who stole my threads thunder.

You guys are so unbelievably oblivious. The title is the only troll part to this forum, the forum itself is meant to promot more ideas for new and improved weaponskills. Of course it's easier to just call someone a troll and go about your days, if thats the case, then find a different forum. This forum is reserved for ws adjustment and new ws ideas only.

All i really have to say is you started it.

As to Weaponskills most of the stuff that i believe has been posted on the Topic made before this so i have nothing to add :P

First I would do some minor adjustments to Groundstrike, Scourge, and Torcleaver. Increase the Damage mods to these would be perfect, hell i'd consider buffing spinning slash as well, but those 3 definitely.

Torcleaver is much stronger than Spinning Slash so why does Torcleaver need to be adjusted but Spinning Slash not?

Biggest point for all ws's tho is STOP USING POINTLESS STATS FOR WS'S!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
SERIOUSLY ITS THE DUMBEST THING IN THE WORLD THAT WE NEED MND BUILDS ON DRK TO INCREASE WS DAMAGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
IT'S ALSO EQUALLY DUMB TO GIVE US A VIT MOD FOR OUR BEST WS ON GS I MEAN SERIOUSLY WTF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Because then every single WS would be STR modified. I'm not for anything that's going to make DRK cater to noobs the way SAM did. SAM WS sets require no knowledge of how damage calculations work, you just throw on as much STR as you can get i.e. "MOAR STR DUR HUR"


Also, if Torcleaver were STR 60% instead of VIT 60% they'd have to lower the fTP from 4.75 to something like 3.5 or else it would become broken.

FYI if you are stacking nothing but VIT on Torcleaver you're not going to reach the fSTR cap, you want fSTR capped first, THEN you add VIT.

The rason I didn't list Spinning Slash is atm the best ws's on GS in order are Torcleaver, Spinning Slash, Ground Strike. Spinning Slash is quite strong for the level you get it at and I didn't want to unbalance the job at lower levels, which is why I said Torcleaver and Groundstrike. As for your comment about stat mod's you do have a point, if we had tons of vit gear to throw on which atm we are sadly lacking then you'd have a completely valid point, but its that lack that makes me include Torcleaver on the list of needs a buff. Also Torcleaver does nowhere near the damage of other empy ws's and yes I know RR breaks empy's, but its all the same, empy ws's should all be god strong especially in abyssea with atmas. Btw did you all notice we get more atmas in the new stuff comin out, looks like atmas could be full time everywhere, just sayin and plz no trolls on this comment. Honestly tho Torcleaver does need a little bit of a buff, and I think it should be Vit 75% or give us better gear for this either is fine, also raise damage multipliers in all 3 categories by.25 so its 5,6,6.75 or 7 and give it the high attack boost against high def like gekko, spinning slash, and groundstrike, Torcleaver means tower cleaver it should reflect that name.

Torcleaver does need a little bit of a buff.

No it doesn't outside abyssea it performs very well

Inside abyssea it falls apart because it doesn't crit either way the problem isn't the way Torcleaver works it's how RR is overpowered.

Either way i enjoy on how Torcleaver is designed it has a strong base dmg so the best way to buff it is with attack which is awsome cause DRK is a great job at stacking attack.

And what happens when all the new content has atmas with like the new void stuff we are gettin, then no matter what we do it seems weaker to the RR, besides it still doesn't change the fact that we lack good vit gear, so either we need a stronger mod like 75% or higher or just more gear to choose from. I know we get twilight gear which is +25 vit but if your like me and have really bad luck at gettin these pieces then what do you got to fall back on, ares, ya tryin to find groups for that is difficult on my server, not even gonna bother with the few other pieces because ultimately twilight can replace them and is easier to get than them atm, just got bad luck lol, but we have other slots that need vit gear to setup for torcleaver. Yes I completely agree Torcleaver is awesome, but it should be a little, high emphasis on LITTLE, bit stronger than it is both inside and out.

the point about VIT gear and all isn't really a issue

Torcleaver was given a great ftp mod (best in game)

So all you have to do with the Weaponskill outside abyssea is stack on attack and it'll perform as one of the best Weaponskills (in my experience only Ukkos is better) also it makes Absorb VIT worth casting.

It's just inside abyssea atmas make things unbalanced.

Honestly i believe the best fix for this would easily be an Atma thats make any WS have access to crits.

Tho every WAR and MNK would prolly /emo if they did do that.
