    Character Name:

    Race:

    World:
    Siren

    Main Job:
    Any

    Support Job:
    Any

    Area and Coordinates:
    All Abyssea Zones

    Party or Solo:
    Both

    NPC Name:
    None

    Monster Name:
    All T1 and T2 VNM

    Steps:

    1) Obtain either a T2 or T1 Abyssite from appropriate sources in abyssea
    2) Find and spawn VNM
    3) Proceed to use Abyssite of Discernment and appropriate jobs obtain red !!
    4) Kill NM w/o obtaining any more Red !!

After doing the above steps, no key item (Colored or colorful Demilune Abyssite) is awarded. At some points it has been as long as 0/50 to get one of these key items. Blue and red staggers work as intended, granting rare items or Atma, with the exception of the key item drop. None of these NMs have items that fall under yellow stagger, so I cannot say if yellow stagger works.

During peak times where over a dozen ppl are trying to kill one 10-Minute repop of the same VNM, and no one is able to progress further.

    Greetings, Vanar!
Thank you for posting your concerns with the Abyssea VNM's. I can understand how strange it may seem to have no key items awarded, so I have made sure to report this matter to the development team for you, using the information that you have submitted. I recommend checking on this thread and www.PlayOnline.com for any news regarding the investigation. Thanks again for your report!

    Hello Vanar,

Thank you for your patience. We have received a response from development regarding your report and the results you have provided are definitely a concern. However, based on the information given, they were not able to reproduce the same results. Regardless, development did not want to give up there.

Do you think you would be able to provide some additional details regarding the steps that you took to obtain this result? Particularly here:

    1) Obtain either a T2 or T1 Abyssite from appropriate sources in abyssea
    [This is okay.]
    2) Find and spawn VNM
[Which VNM did you fight and what key item were you going for?]
    3) Proceed to use Abyssite of Discernment and appropriate jobs obtain red !!
[Which weapons/weapon skills did you use to proc?]
    4) Kill NM w/o obtaining any more Red !!
    [Good!]

Finally, did the person who spawned the NM remain in party, fighting, and within range when it died?

Thank you very much for your help and we're sorry that we were unable to provide an answer as of yet.

    Thank you,

Unfortunately getting red !! or blue !! or even yellow !! does not cause the abyssite to upgrade. The Abyssea VNM system is a more streamlined version of the regular VNM system. Getting Red does NOTHING to upgrade a VNM. Defeating the NMs multiple times until upgraded is the only way.

I do believe that the dev team should change this to red proc but as of yet thats not how its implimented.

I can confirm.. red weakness does not affect abyssite upgrade...

If the dev team intended for it too that would be an awesome fix

Also confirming that red weakness triggering does not mean your abyssite will upgrade.

[Which VNM did you fight and what key item were you going for?] Es'euvhi.
[Which weapons/weapon skills did you use to proc?] Dagger, Energy Drain.

I was the person who spawned it, and also delivered the killing blow.

Please note, I have repeated this exact scenario on multiple T1, and T2 VNM in all the abyssea zones with all the weapons listed on http://wiki.ffxiclopedia.org/wiki/We...g#Red_Weakness
