If the OLD way as we have been marking it, was wrong/stupid/waste of time/and everything this poster says it was; makes me think why it flurished so much and had many more servers and many more players doing it and playing it.

Inventing some new gadget which you have put all your time and effort into tweaking and testing to perfect it which gets worldwide praise, or getting some gimmick sword that does nothing but increase your DPS by a miniscule amount after months and years of sitting around and waiting for something to happen?

The former is of course the greater accomplishment, however the latter is also a very impressive one as well.

Just because most people were, does that mean we should force the change on everyone else, regardless of whether or not they want the game to change? Because that is what has happened.

For your "everyone else," play the way previous to abyssea. Evidently if you can't find enough people to play the way you want to play, it shows how many more people were ready for a change than you thought.

People don't seem to realize one thing: If you tell people they can't leech in abyssea- do you tihnk they're really going to go back to 7 years ago and making carefully balanced parties to level up with? No. They're just going to go find the next fastest/easiest method and use that. Even if you restrict abyssea, you're not going to see a resurgance in typical parties EXPing all over the game world. People will just sync to E.Ron S colibri, do summoner burns, or MMM. It's not going to result in smarter players or people fighting stuff in every area of the game again.

That's the bottom line. There is no more mid game. Everything to do is in the endgame. So people don't want to spend weeks/months trying to level to experience that section of the game.

So you think we should just forget about the last 8 years of the game? Real ffxi cannot be played without fafnir, or kirin. They are essential parts of the game. And of course the game was meant to be played at level 75. For 8 years, it was designed around level 75. Changing that now simply is not right, and ruins the original game.

Getting the best gear is supposed to be hard. What sense of accomplishment do you have if you can get all the best gear, including empyrean weapons, etc, in a few days? We need to go back to the challenges of getting things like adaberk, ridill, etc. We shouldn't just have everything handed to us on a golden platter.

I never said anything of the sort. I love old school stuff. It's just that I'm not gonna waste my time hanging out waiting for no one to do things when other people enjoy Abyssea. I go where the game is, I don't wait for the game to come to me. If everyone is playing basketball, do you want them to get rid of basketball so YOU can play Football?

But there are still those of us who really enjoyed playing the real ffxi. And i'm sure there are more of us than you think. Most people don't really like abyssea as much as they liked the real ffxi, but they just do it because it is the only way they can play the game at all.
