How to get SE execs to loosen their purse strings? going to have to convince them XIV players will double up their subs to play XI too.
Want FFXIV players to actually give FFXI a try?
I mean, to be fair, some people already are. The recent closure of character creation on Asura was tied in part to an influx of players, probably tied to the sub discounts associated with the FFXI x FFXIV raid.

If they owned Minecraft, OSRS or even WoW they could have run them into the ground with under investment. They fundamentally do not understand the appeal of older, lower tech games and investing in them to gain more customers.

They understand they need to update and add content, but they do not understand the appeal of upgrading the base games that are successful.

It's wild that Nintendo fully understand where their audience is, but SE do not.

Guys, I'm reading a lot of criticism here. Remember that certain developer feedback is actionable. Please be careful.

I'm not sure why you said this? Yeah, we know they can act on feedback, that's why we all make it. But we are entirely free to be critical of ideas as well. There are limited dev resources available, and so every change, even minor ones, proopsed, should be scrutinized, to maximize the potential benefit we can get out of a patch.

There is nothing wrong with being critical of feedback as long as it is civilized.

You specifically are not allowed to name the company or anyone working there, or you'll get banned. Which is what Darkshade was saying.

If they named specific people in a negative way, sure. I don't think they've ever actioned someone for merely mentioning SE. We're pretty much all guilty of that.

There are instances of it in the thread, namely with SE above. You're not allowed to disparage the company or anyone working there, people get banned for that all the time.

Saying SE bad won’t get you banned, come on.

It has to be a bit more than that. They don't seem to be quite as strict as they used to be. There was a time on the FFXIV forum where if you weren't a complete and total beacon of positivity at all times you'd get suspended.

When someone gets banned, they just can't post anymore.
