Abyssea End game shells and my thoughts and oppions about them

Tbh I'm curious to know what shell this was. Krystal on asura hasn't shown any AH activity since 2008 so I'm guessing they use a different name in game. It's hard to find well established shells that are still open for members... I think steelsyndicate is one of the only shells that still takes new people that I would go with (mostly because of some of their old members who made a good impression).
As far as the top ten shells on asura go: machina is closed, moovinbrix is a leader take all shell, no clue about wegotswagg anymore, i heard vosdementis is pretty dead, chroma is eu only, losnoobs looks decent, kupols has more than their fair share of drama llamas, madgood is only fun if you're in the in clique, and i don't think i've seen any circleofknights or hildegarde members in a long time. I suspect there are a few small shells around that are quite fun to be in though... it will just take some searching.

Funny thing is I'd probably pearl Krystal at least to my Abyssea SP's private linkshell, if not my main Endgame shell if he was on my server. Not entirely as a joke either, because it's a lot easier to show someone the difference between real Endgame and poser Endgame than it is to tell them.

Some of the better players I know now were equally confused years ago around ToAU release. Get someone with even an ounce of potential in a solid, intelligent environment and they can improve by leaps and bounds. The only setback is that the solid, intelligent communities in this game are few, far between, and all very cautious with adding new members (for obvious reasons). Added to that, it's hard for a low-tier player to tell the difference between a good shell and a crap shell with the same "Endgame" label on it like the one from the OP. It's easy as hell to call anything an "Endgame" shell. That doesn't make it one. Those of us in the Endgame scene can tell the difference a mile away, but it doesn't do us much good unless we're searching for a shell anyways.

I agree I would love to see her in a better environment too. I would invite her to try out for my LS if she was on my server, and share my knowagle of the game with her and such.

Most all Shells on Asura are Drama-ridden or terrible players who dumb-luck into good gear but wouldn't know how to use it if it was spelled out to them on their out-dated ideas of using PLDs meleeing in HP Gear with Ochain, or their Bromunes.

But LosNoobs is actually a good shell. They have their fair share of flat out retarded people, But most of them know what they're doing. I left for my own reason i won't go into, But they are a good shell if you can get past some of the bad seeds.

One problem that sticks out is, when i was still with them, They had nearly 30+ Active members, and Abyssea is an 18-man Zone and we'd only do zone. So if you didn't "/" in time you were left out of Event until someone left. You'd still get partial points for being a "Bench" Member so its not a big deal, And in a lot of cases you were still allowed to zone in and lot something if it was on your wishlist. you'd just not get to be in for a bit :P. It was a big shell, but its good.

if things continue to progress on this server the way they are...as soon as the server merge is complete i would love to try out your shell. would be nice to play with some competent players....>.>; though i really wish you would stop calling me a "he" but meh..i suppose i'll just overlook that..^^

I can duo with my GF (THF + WHM or MNK + WHM), But i still have 2-3 other friends who actively participate. Mostly because we're all good RL Friends, but also because of things like Yellow Triggers for Seals/+2 Items etc. one is a BLM, the other is (albeit a bit more useless) a DRK/RDM/RNG (lawl).

I see no point to 18+ Man groups because its just unneeded competition, But some of them are smart about it (Split up to divide/conquer multiple NMs), so in a way it balances out.

I prefer low-man though :| 5 members max is my favorite.

Pretty much this. My "static" is just 4 people who have all been friends for years. We have a decent enough job mix to do pretty much anything, and leveling a new job if we need one these days is cake. Heck, two of them leveled WHM specifically for Abyssea junk. (Edit: oops, forgot the third did too, so we all have WHM <_<)

You can duo anything in Abyssea to get the kill, you just find yourself in a position where it's harder to get procs depending on what you're after. Nin+Whm and War+Whm can handle most reds, Mnk+Whm can handle every blue, but in any Melee+Whm case you're missing a lot of potential grellows if you're after +1/+2 items. Thf+Whm can get Empyrean item drops, but it sorely lacks Reds for building the popsets (assuming you aren't just changing jobs and burning stones, etc). Adding a third member to round out whatever procs you need can help a lot.
