Depends on your play style. MMO's are based around numbers of people, that was their original design concept too. Also more people = more subs.
The issue is not about large numbers of people, but the resources available. With a higher number of people on a server, I think more Apex, more ??? points, and generally more instances need to be added. Then it doesn't matter how many growing number of people are on the server.
its not more people? its the same number. More people on one server and less on another doesn't change the number of people playing lol. And new people don't know how many people are on which server.
(But really i'm simply not going to pay for a server transfer when all the people i know are here and i can still do most anything I want to do without a problem)
Plus some people don't like overcrowded servers. Since the most I ever saw was around 2200 or so on Shiva back in the day and I'm pretty sure populations were more balanced back then, i'd consider over 3k overcrowded. Even on shiva sometimes I have to wait for ambuscade, so i cant imagine what it's like voer there.
While I did HNM camping, I hated it. skill or party coomposistion are basically irrelevant and it was just luck of the draw (or botting)... waiting three hours playing isketch while checking for the pop every 30 minutes only to get out provoked by a botter was not really my idea of fun.
