It certainly has more purpose than Cruor for instance, and it's no surprise since it's a "new" currency.
But I still feel it doesn't have nearly as much relevance as it should/could, or as when SoA was released.
It's not my intention to prove you wrong or anything, but may I ask what do you spend your bayld on? Maybe I just missed an important but different perspective from someone who plays in a different way than me, I'm curious (no sarcasm, I swear).
Judging from my experience and my lsmates, we all have billions of Bayld and we never seem to run out of it because:
  • The basic gear you can buy with bayld ain't too great anymore, and it's not like it's a "consumable" anyway.
  • The cost for WKR has been greatly reduced since the beginning. And unless you go on an "unlucky" job or arrive too late, you usually receive more Bayld from the kill than the one you spent to access it (also, none of us do WKR anymore and haven't been for quite some time)
  • There is some bayld you can spend on the concoctions, but nobody uses them
  • Bayld is used for the Skirmish augmentations and for the Mezzotinting augmentations, but it's very small amounts

Basically from what I saw, differently from the first months of SoA, people find themselves with more Bayld than they can spend and usually they gathered Bayld as a side-effect of doing other things. Take me for instance, I have over 2 millions Bayld and I never even farmed for it, it just "happened" as I was doing other things (I did farm a lot when WKRs were expensive of course, but that's another story)
There is no drive into doing Assignments anymore once you get max rank, since tipically there are better ways to get XP as well.
I was thinking that if SE were to offer additional ways to spend Bayld (whatever they come up with) it might revitalize Reives and especially Assignments, since more people would be doing those to farm Bayld.
