I've just stopped playing mid-way through creating a Mythic (30K/30K Alex complete, to give you an idea of the progress). My main reason for stopping play? The lack of a challenge in content - and the slow delivery of new content to keep up with my rate of progression. Now please understand before you get your panties in a twist and start spewing out emotion at me in a reply -- I'm not one of those players that say "give me HNMs, make it harder, where's the challenge" etc etc - What I am saying is - everyone plays differently and everyone enjoys different things.

I realise I am fortunate enough to have kept a Linkshell that wasn't overrun with drama or unpleasant people, and I also realise not everyone has been lucky in finding a Linkshell where they fit in and can get stuff done.

A lot of Linkshells fell apart after Abyssea, I managed to keep the majority of mine together and kept a steady number of members, around 16-20. We were always end-game players (camped HNM successfully for many years) and enjoyed participation in tough events that caused repeat wipes and development of new strategies.

The latest Challenge (in my opinion) to be added was Delve and for a period of time, farming Tojil, the Shark and the Bee was actually fun -- working out the tricks and finding out the best job setup; but that content quickly got to the point of repeat farming and thus... monotony.

    A lot of players enjoy the low man (or casual-esque) challenges like Skirmish, Salvage, WildKeepers etc, there were a lot of people who enjoyed the tougher content. These people have not really been catered for, for a long time. If they have, its been in short bursts and never continued (like the non-existent Legion expansion... but I have to say, Legion was crap and largely unfun, so that's OK in my book!);

The more recent example is the continuous addition of filler content/low man content and the non-existent expansion of Delve (to this point).

So back to my original point, me and the majority of my Linkshell have quit the game because we realised that up to now - the only fun thing to do is stand in town and enjoy the game music. I personally didn't want to complete a Yagrush to.... farm more Tojils. It's not fun, it's stale - and content is not delivered quick enough that satisfies all types of gamer. Its safe to say looking at the rate of FFXI posts on popular endgame forums like BlueGartr, a lot end-game players are bored of waiting for content that never comes, and have moved onto FFXIV.

Meanwhile people on this forum continue to complain and ask for trivial changes to the game to satisfy their own desires/methods of play. Everyone seems to want to change the game so it caters to their availability/schedule. Rather than create engaging content for both light players and heavy players - we're suggesting Arise recast timer changes, Soul Voice being extended to get off a song rotation (what, you need more than 60 seconds to cast songs on a party?)... ok I stopped reading that post when I got to "Chainspell Stun generates too much hate"

Please continue to enjoy the game that the vocal minority of you have cried into the ground.

Back to FFXIV for me... Madness.
Why do you always tread on others threads meant to be respectful and pleasant only to end off telling people off as no other persons opinions ever matter and everyone else is wrong?

I don't even play bard. Nor do I play summoner. I played FFXI as much as you did and maybe more. I may not have everything you have but my attention was focused on other things than you.

This is not the first time. This is the 2nd Matsui thread I have made where you have left rants and complaints turning a thank you thread into a hate on Matsui thread instead. And now a hate on me thread.

    Which is becoming personal.

Right now reading your comments is taking our previous debates and using my words against me as if you are holding on to a grudge with someone because you made a few disagreements in the past.

In this case you claim that you disagree with 95% of everything I say all the time only makes me wonder if we are truly friends. I would only disagree with a person 95% of the time if I hated the person or was ignoring the person as if they don't matter and their opinion means nothing.

Personally I lost interest in FFXI after SoA. Thats why im taking time off to wait for this drama to end.

    What drama?

Playing a game of DEV team trying to keep players interested, losing the fanbase's interest only to be constantly adding more things to SoA and then change the adjustments.

Now where is the fanbase? Attention has been given to FFXIV by the same company that made 11.

So until all this mess is sorted out Id rather wait and then go back and continue where I left off.

I never said I hated all of Abyssea. But little details like handing over temp items all the time only made it easier to speed through the leveling process repeating the same routine.

Sorry but every single game have a leveling process.

I was use to playing FFXI all day with people doing more than just fighting monsters all the time.

We spent the same amount of time looking for groups and invites for exp parties as everyone spends the same amount of time today trying to join an event.

    Difference?

I'm use to actually playing with the same people all day and get to know them. Not join some random group of people and figure out if they are worth the time to accomplish event only to play judge over a persons gear and figure out skill later.

I don't play bard, nor Summoner yet I am here giving my opinion as to why I see the jobs being left out or struggling to accomplish playing the job in a group. But every post I create I speak from the point of view of how I see others having problems.

Obviously the more Power monsters are given, the less time a player has to set off a strategic plan. It gets worse when the group has more people added to the equation.

These suggestions are not based on what I want. But what I see could help make events stable and the overall play of others effective.

Games offered power through level achievement.

The system with FFXI is heavily focused on power achievement through gear.

It doesn't make sense to give us Delve rank items and then make those irrelevant by offering crafted items that surpass Delve and make those items irrelevant.

I took a month and half off and you act like a significant amount of content and stuff happened that my experience and knowledge has now become completely worthless and all of my opinions mean nothing.

I think it does if I'm here explaining why I'm one of the people who lost interest. Atleast I'm trying to be mature about it.
