Edit: So you guys are not the only one who thinks its unfair. I just learned to deal with it and move on. And yeah at that time it took a couple of years to earn all of that.
You think you're entitled to getting your account back for being inactive? I wanted my stuff back after I was -hacked- but I didn't get my help, don't even go there when it comes to 'fairness' and thinking you've got it worse than others, because truth be told there's always someone taking it up the ass more brutally than you and the next guy before you.

And you definitely took my post the wrong way. I WAS that guy who had it worse than the op, therefore stated that although I know it's unfair, I learned to deal with it and move on.

I can't even be sarcastic lol.

Op said he lost Bayld after playing 2 hours in WildKeepers reive due to emergency maintenance... Hmmm I lost over 2 years working on an entire account with multi millions of gil worth of items, subscription fees I paid to play. And you are telling me off as if I'm whining. If you got hacked, then you must've done something illegal to subject yourself to being hacked because I've never in my life got hacked in any game except once when I trusted someone who send me a download filed encrypted with a key logger that emailed him my password and account info upon login.

And this is how drama begins.

Recap: No I was not whining about my account being deleted. I was letting the OP know that SE covered their tracks by warning people there will be no compensation due to emergency maintenance. Morale of my story? You had it bad, yes I agree it's unfair. I had it worse so I understand where you are coming from. However nothing can be done accept to move on and forget about it.

Just cause you got screwed before does not really make it any more right to say they should deal with getting screwed, if anything you should be more sympathetic and agree something needs done, so less people are treated this way.

Well DJ if SE was unwilling to help both me and Anjou and many others even though SE already stated their policy. What more can be done? Complain? Hope the community reps or devs will consider changing their policy? Waste your breathe posting after every single emergency maintenance the same complaints that have been made like a broken record since the first emergency maintenance ever to happen since day 1? Atleast I tried to be respectful, kind and encouraging about it rather than be flat out rude.

I just want to make this 100% clear with you Daemon:

1.) I have -never- considered doing -anything- illegal, I always make sure everything I do is by the book. I got hacked because of a former friend telling a guy about the stuff on my account. Don't -ever- insinuate that I do illegal activity in a video game that in several years will become moot.

2.) I know how you feel on your whole account loss, I had nearly 5 jobs at 75, killed Odin, had full Valhalla and a hofud. Had all sorts of stuff you will hardly EVER see people have these days, and now that's all gone. Tons of days farming nm's for things like Algol, Rafael's Rod. The point of number 2 is because you had a chance to reactivate your account, I lost mine within the blink of an -eye- I tried to contact SE, but they ended up losing my claim and I won't ever get my help.

Ok but you insinuated as if I was whining when I wasn't. I was just letting the OP know that he was not the only one who got screwed that some of us had it worse so he is not the only one. I am 100% legit too, so I know how you feel. I've made stupid mistakes too and that's why I am much more careful when playing any online game. It is the reason I never install Skype or any other programs on my computer after being hacked by someone I thought was my friend.

And no I never did have the opportunity to reactivate my account because during the time mine got deleted, SE never had the offer to allow people a chance to reactivate your account. So yes mine was gone in a blink of an eye.

Then if we're both agreed SE needs to focus on helping the people that is keeping their employees paid, I think we should at least make them realize that we're human beings and not drones mindlessly buying and being satisfied customers, because from what I've been reading, hardly anyone is satisfied with how any of this is being handled.

Which I totally agree with you but you can only bring up this topic so many times in the past decade only to be left unanswered..seriously lets be real here for a second? Do you think if SE intended to compensate every single player over 1 emergency maintenance let alone every single emergency maintenance. Wouldn't they have done it already by now?

SE already has way too many problems that everyone complains enough already yet for every 1 problem that gets fixed how many more problems multiply from it? To me there are way more bigger issues at hand that a company with a small DEV team is busy working around the clock has to worry about and we are only talking about 1 game here. Final fantasy XI is not the only game the company is busy focused on 24/7. DEV team are human beings too and they are not drones who can fix every single problem in 1 day from every single players point of view of how they believe should alter the game. Yeah I disagree with a lot of decisions the company makes but there has to be a line drawn somewhere on how much we complain rather than give them credit and understanding for their hard work.

We can sit here everyday trashing the Devs but atleast have some courtesy to understand that they cannot solve every problem on a daily basis.

And yes i believe some of these policies are set for a reason to begin with so to provide a sense of control on how much more extra work the Devs need to do that are not killing anyone who can see past the bigger issues that the devs are busy working on. While I agree it's unfair losing all that time working on things like earning Bayld for WildKeepers Reives, put your shoes in the Devs place for a second. They are probably in panic mode hoping to find out what the problem is and making sure the errors big enough to shutdown the entire sever can be quickly fixed so thousands of players won't go on a rage quit/ flood the forums with endless complaints breathing down their necks for human error in hopes of defeating the problem so they can bring the servers back up quick as possible.

They could easily query the players who were in the reives at maintenance start and insert say 25k bayld in their accounts. Figuring out how much everyone paid and refunding exact amounts might be a little more of a chore, but figuring out who was where is a simple task.
