I know that the expansion is going to be released, it's whether we actually get access to it which is currently in question. With less than a week to go, getting irritating mailshots from SE about other games and amazon telling me about the Xbox version isn't reassuring...

FFXI isn't an AAA game. It may have been ten years ago, but not today. It is literally not worth the attention that new titles are.

Investment in a game has to be comparable to its expected return. At this point, the budget and expected return are probably on a scale similar to mobile games; Crystal Defenders is probably a more appropriate comparison.

If you want the same fanfare as Tomb Raider, you should expect to pay Tomb Raider's price of $60 for the new Ultimate Collection.

People wanting timely and accurate information about where they can actually get the game and having pre-orders function without errors is now considered fanfare. Who knew?

Considering that I have gotten every FFXI expansion for $29.99, the same price as Seekers, this launch is pretty laughable and pathetic, especially for a company who should know how to release a game. But hey, keep white knighting for them.

Ok SE you don't want my money fine i no longer wish to buy Seekers i will go and buy a copy of monster hunter ultimate and play that instead thanks and to think i reactivated my account around christmas because of the expansion you got me excited about.............Why it is so hard to tell your customers in Europe where we can buy the ultimate collection for xbox360 i have no idea?

First of all we would like to apologise for the lack of information on the upcoming expansion for EU players. We understand everyone’s frustrations and we do not take pleasure in making our loyal fans angry.

Some of you are concerned that the expansion will not be released in time. However, rest assured that we will still be releasing Seekers of Adoulin on the 27th March as scheduled.

The PC version will be digital download only so we won’t be running out of copies for sure.
With regards to pre-order information for the PC, we will provide you with concrete details on where you can get it next week.

Once again we are sorry for having to make you wait.

OK, so, its been almost a week, I really don't like to moan about things. I understand that you all work really hard for us, and i for one am thankful for it, but these concrete details and the fact that the eu store now only says coming soon. With 5 days left til release?, Isn't this cutting it a bit too close with a large eu player base? its going to be alot of lag to download this thing if we get the preorder on release day (ain't worried about the lag myself but) i see alot of people saying how EU and a few other countries feel like they're being either put last or don't get bonus items that NA and JP players can get. It just gets annoying in a sense, as we all like to play this game, but some get treated differently =/. If theirs different country laws or so i can understand that, but can we at least have info on why were either left til last second or excluded from these sorts of things.

What I was responding to:

They gave a international price out months before and pre-orders happened soon after.
They also gave reductions in price for pre-ordering.
They had the game on steam.

He's trying to compare it to the fanfare of a new, full-budget release. If you want to talk about something different, knock yourself out, but don't pretend I'm talking about the same thing.

Again, I was responding by comparing a standalone game (Ultimate Collection, ~$40) to a standalone game (Tomb Raider, ~$60). But if you want to talk about the expansion pricing, the number of subscribers is down. If they're charging the same price but can only expect to sell 1/10 the number of copies, they're only going to spend 1/10 the amount on marketing, etc.

Have to wonder at the ambiguous wording in the above. None of us are concerned that SoA won't be released on 27th March - for those that can pre-order it. However, everyone posting in this thread - all of UK, EU and AUS players - are concerned we won't be able to order or pre-order before then, ultimately leaving us behind till goodness knows when.

We're all pretty frustrated for several reasons:

• You don't seem to treat us as fairly as the other territories, yet we're all paying customers.
• You ignore all attempts by us to request information. If this is due to internal issues that are complex / confidential, that's fine, but we'd appreciate simple updates.
• We've waited a week and there is no update. The only change is on the EU SE store, which says "Coming Soon".
• A lot of people re-subscribed specifically for this expansion but it's being handled very badly so far. Even the NA side is having issues with their pre-order, but at least they have access to that.

As far as I'm aware, we don't get the bonuses NA customers do (lower price for Ult Edition, a music box?) and yet we're having to deal with this and remaining polite.

I'm beginning to think we'll end up being able to order/download a few days later than JP and NA customers, which will mean we'll be playing catch-up again. If this is by design then I'm honestly not sure what to say, so I hope it's not. It would conveniently shift a lot of server traffic over for you by several days, however.

A great many of us are loyal fans that are just sitting here, waiting for any news, but there is none and each day brings us closer to launch. We're in the same position we were a month ago. All we're asking for is some equality.

don't have to worry about the server traffic as it is being handled by digital river/steam, and even if the expansion download size (stand alone) is only 209 MB, so it is not that big of an installer to download.

At the very least, this should be included for us since we're having to put up with a lack of service in regards to being able to pre-order the expansion, as well as a lack of information as to why. This really should have been done months ago, it can't take that long to set up a pre-order page. We want to give you our money, why all the reluctance to take it?
I don't want this to seem like I'm having a go at the reps, because it's as far from their fault as it can get, but can you please chase this up? The EU playerbase is getting very (understandably) annoyed over this.

Why does it matter when pre-orders are available, as long as it is available at some point before release? As far as I can tell you're all complaining because you feel entitled to pre-order when you want to pre-order regardless of what issues SE face at their end.

The one legitimate complaint here is that the EU 360 Seekers Edition was announced, but clearly isn't going to be ready for release, and possibly was never going to come. If that was the case it should never have been announced on the SoA website.
