    Starlight Celebration - Windurst minigame

I know I'm a little late to the party here, but what's a good strategy for beating it? Honest to God, I can't even beat it on the basic level, and that's even after giving myself a migraine.

I started with each Taru on a different job. Then just changed the Tarus one at a time. Start by trying to work out which 5 jobs are in the lineup, you might incidentally work out 1 or 2 locations. Once you've done this work out the locations of the remaining Taru.

    For example, you choose:

WAR, MNK, THF, WHM, BLM and it comes up 3H 1CH. Then you change it to

RDM, MNK, THF, WHM, BLM and it comes up 2H 1CH. Then you know there is no RDM, there is a WAR, and neither are in that first slot. Or if it came up 3H 0CH you would know that there is a RDM and a WAR, and that the WAR is first in the lineup.

If you've ever played the board game "Mastermind", it plays exactly like that except with more possible combinations.

After about 2k gil on this game alone (seriously), I developed the following strategy which seemed to work well with my shell mates.

First try: WAR WAR WAR WAR WAR; This will either force a CH result or a 0, so you can either eliminate or know you have X of job in the lineup. For the sake of example, lets say it returned a CH 0. WAR is not part of the lineup.

Second try: MNK MNK MNK MNK MNK; CH-1 H-0. We know for a fact we have one MNK in the lineup. But where is it?

Third try: MNK WHM WHM WHM WHM CH-0 H-1. We know the 1 is from MNK, but is in the wrong position, and therefore WHM isn't in the lineup because it would have returned a CH 1 H-1 or H-2. Move on, move the MNK.

Fourth try: BLM MNK BLM BLM BLM CH-1 H-1. We know we need MNK and BLM, but who's in the right spot? Statistically, its probably a BLM.

Obviously each round is going to act differently, but I found doing it this way was easier for me than trying to solve the "Start with 5 different jobs" strategy.

Use of a sorting algorithm works quite well... similar to previous post, only start with WAR WAR WAR WAR MNK (if you get CH 0 H1, you then know that one of them, but not last one, is a mnk and none of them are war) then change them one by one, sifting the jobs along until you get another CH

As I stand looking out from my mog house window, I reminisce about the old days and the many ups and downs of my adventures throughout Vana'diel.

It is then that I know achievement.

I ended up googling a Mastermind solver to get it done. XD But I am pretty intrigued by this sort of game now...

The Sandy and Windy games seemed intimidating at first, but once you get the hang of it the games were pretty fun.
