They had the amazing idea of converting cruor to gil before, with abyssea, and you used to be able to sell abyssea gears to npc. Suddenly you no longer have to buy gills since you can always make some when you want to. Then they turned into a bunch of idiots and I think this new regime is even worse than the old one. We seriously need Yoshi P from FF14 to take over FF11 and give it another go for a realm reborn.

When has it ever been a good idea for people to print their own money?
The better way to gain money is through the AH, and sources that create gil out of thin air should be kept to a minimum.
So if you want VW to be part of that, SE needs to fix up crafting so crafters actually wants those VW crafting drops in the first place.
