There's an actual name for that weapon, not sure what it is but, it was actually an anti-calvary weapon. I guess I'll go find out.

I'd REALLY like to see nun-chaku, tonfa, sai, and especially a kusarigama. It'd work really well to coincide with the far east expansion.

I always wanted orbs in the ranged slot. Mainly giving elemental affinity of their element. Kind of a mage weapon, though not for hitting with.

You're thinking of a Zabatou which was designed to cleave the rider and horse. There is also a Bisento which was basically a falcion on the end of a staff. In SE's Crono Cross, the main character wielded a double bisento or sorts.
