You should easily be able to find a used copy of FFXI on XBox 360 for cheap.
You can get Abyssea Edition for PC from Amazon or Steam on the cheap, and use its registration codes to set up your SquareEnix/PlayOnline/FFXI account through the Square Enix Account Management System website - then you can play it on XBox 360 without issue.
Here is XBox 360 version, lacking Wings of the Goddess, for under $20 (before shipping):

Best Buy has a used listing for FFXI 2008 Collection for XBox at 12.99, but it's sold out.
This is getting ridiculous. I know FFXI isn't new but you would think enough people tried it and didn't like it for there to be a lively aftermarket for used XBox and PS2 discs. (If you think getting Vana'diel Collection 2008 for XBox is hard....)
SquareEnix needs to stamp out some new discs at least for the XBox. The PS2 is far enough out of production and with a small enough share of the user base that producing new FFXI discs for it probably can't be justified, but I highly doubt the same is true for the XBox.
From what I've seen, used copies of FFXI were plentiful not long after it came out. While it's not impossible that between 2008 and now the used copies have most all been purchased by existing PC and PS2 players, it seems unlikely that that would explain for the near-total lack of used copies.
