I for one am done. Flame me all you like... We as a player base have dealt with SE's inept approach to everything for years now. I'll be taking my talents to Rift until a suitable replacement hits the market. Yes I feel for the country of Japan in this dire time. I feel nothing but contempt for a multi-million dollar company that won't make previsions for its' player base.

Sometimes I like to be a d-bag just to be a d-bag sometimes too, but you're just being whiny.

If your post is serious, I'll be glad to see one less bickering player that is unhappy because SE didn't put a (Auto-matically be level 99 and have everything in the game) button. I think they've always done a good job with the updates. They always have the majority of the playerbase in mind. Just because you may not fall into that group with a particular change doesn't mean that there haven't been adjustments that have helped you. I'd like to see you do a better job than SE.

Square do, they like money (being a business and all). Fro every one person complaining and genuinely leaving over this there will be a lot more that do and say nothing. Given the lifespan of the game is linked to player numbers and profits I think telling people to leave should be the last thing anyone would say really.

Also worth noting people were always saying this on FFXIV at the start, nobody says it now. Reality kicked in.

Seems to me alot of you have a problem with staying on the topic. And you rather enjoy making stabs at those of us with the gumption to have a negative remark towards the business sense of a company we expect results from. But to you and Jalonis, in order for them to put the game back on, consider the bandwidth they'd need to acquire. It's not nearly as simple as turning the servers back on and just plugging in an ethernet cord and away you go. You need the bandwidth setup to support tens of thousands of users simultaneously, from all across the world, with no downtime at all. That setup doesn't come cheaply nor is it easy to handle or maintain. And companies don't just have backups of these or spares lying around just in case their connection needs to go down for a natural disaster.

Again, this goes directly against disaster recovery and planning as it is taught at nearly any college in the country.

Jalonis, you threw down the business college card, but any college would be doing you a disservice to not teach you to research a situation properly beforehand. The power company for SE, and a fairly large portion of Japan, is severely crippled, the power company and the Japanese government have asked people to conserve electricity (because yes, hospitals have run out of electricity in this crisis and people have died from there not being enough energy), even if they decided to move the servers you gotta get them out of Japan and if you maybe read a little bit more you'd learn that most of the trains have been down. But on top of that, assuming you can even get the servers to an airport, you are going to bid for putting your video game servers on planes bringing in relief effort and taking people out of Japan for medical help. This is all assuming that you actually have found a data center capable of handling the game's bandwidth and are willing to pay the ludicrous prices to run this operation out of house and basically rent bandwidth from another company, since that's what they'd have to do in this situation.

All this for what? Two weeks to a month? Please.

Also don't know where college teaches you to just randomly pull numbers out of your ass like that, but whatever.

Like I said I don't care if either of you two leave, I just don't want people to have to briefly entertain the thought that your ideas might have some merit to it.

Read more, troll less. And really, don't try to pretend that you are thinking all on the business end for SE. You are just an addicted player trying to come up with a reason other than that to argue for them to turn the servers back on.

Can't this topic be dropped already? We managed to recover from the heated debate a few pages ago and get back to the realism of things rather then people's overblown emotions and withdrawls.

So the servers are down for another 2 days. Cool at least they updated us. Let's move on, yeah?

the AH's are going to take a turn for the worst here ;-; but im expecting them to give us another update saying its going to be offline further on or before the 22nd.
