Granted, this doesn't show the weaker seismic activity below 6.0, but I'm guessing three significant events recorded in about 18 months was not much of an indication that they would have 6 more over 6.0 happen within the next 48/72 hours.....

My point about billing/servers was really if SE has any plans to actually move the servers if the rolling outages continue for signicantly over three weeks as has already been indicated. I find it remarkable that a global company suchas SE has had its MMO brought to a halt without any sort of longer term plan to relocate, if for example heaven forbid the reactor does go up. SE really seem to have put all the eggs in one basket so to speak, Imean other that for convience is there any reason the servers arent actually in the areas they serve? i.e a EU site, US site and a JP site. Especially when you consider that FFXIV is pretty much dead at least in the medium term and FFXV is apparrently in trouble too.

Again....because it would not be cost effective to have a multi-cultural, international playerbase with regional servers all in the same game world at the same time--not to mention the horrible lag that would be injected trying to synch up to 32 game servers in each of 3 or 4 regions in real-time to make that even possible. It would have had to been set up as a NA region with only NA players, a EU region with only EU users, a JP region with only JP players, etc--not a mix of all people playing together in the same game world. Or if not isolated competely region, and JP could sign up on the EU server and accept the additional lag vs. playing on one more local--they would only be able to play with the people in that EU region and not teamup with people on the JP region server. This way, all regions can interact together so long as they are homed on the same server.

was probably below 6.0 so it's not on that site's list. As I said, it's only showing events above 6.0.
Notice there's over 170 minor events that took place from 2009-08-09 to 2011-03-09.

It is a fact though that some servers have larger populations from various cultral groups though, and I may not have epxressed my point how I meant. I was more bothered about the servers not being all in the same place, have em in africa for all I care, but having all your chickens in one basket it kinda silly. Imagine if say 1/3were in japan, 1/3 in US and 1/3 in EU this would mean only 1/3 would be currently down and if they wanted to move em they could alot faster

Yeah, it would be nice in theory...but again, there would likely be a lot more overhead with all the staffing and ISP costs and what not. A lot of their talent may have been homed in the JP region as well, so there's the whole relocation aspect too maybe. Guess this was the easiest way for them to do it. Would have been nice if they had chosen to do it in a different location, I agree... but for whatever reason here we are now and they've got to figure out what's best for them as a company.

no matter how much they may want and try to be considerate of the customer base's wishes--ultimately they are going to do what is best for the comnpany in the long run. It's not uncommon, Micro$oft is a prime example of that syndrome--how many WTF moments has that company had over the last 30 years....

ive noticed a new thread on weather servers will be back up in 2 months and I really think it will be a matter of days or weeks, ie if it isnt up by the end of march I dont expect it to be up till may or even june!

The problem is that apparently you don't know how to make a pattern. You look at one month's worth of earthquakes and ask why no one saw the pattern, when you can't go by one month alone. You need to look at the months/years before and see if the earthquake rate for that month was unusual.

Yet again, all you have posted in the last 3 of your posts is the fact you now how to make a pattern. But if the standard earthquakes they get over there range from 4.0~6.0 when the ones that where bigger then 6.0 happened I think someone should of had the Scholar light bulb emote happen and realized something bad was coming. And if they did not want to use seismology then they could of used the fact that 45% or more of japanese culture consist of farmers, and had a farmer tell them that something bad is coming. I mean did no one notice like every fish in 100 miles leave the area, or all the birds leave the island before it happened?

You're the one who said there was a pattern, with no evidence of one. Earthquakes in the 4-6 range aren't that uncommon, did they get an unusual number in the past month compared to other months? And I haven't seen any reports on the fish/birds leaving before the quake, got a link?
