However, there've been many announcements of things they were going to do, or "looking in to" or "is being addressed" that simply haven't happened and seem to have been swept under the rug. To that extent Louis has a point. Possible they threw us a bone with the gear announcement... and are just hoping it lasts while they never put it in.

Seriously, when they announced they had no intention to actually fix the TH ability itself I was pretty sure this was another one of their bogus announcements. There are alot of (justifiably) butt-hurt thieves out there angerred that placebo hunter isn't enough to get them parties. Giving us the ability to get back the TH they just took away would just enrage them more.

They aren't adding any gear. They said straight out, we will not get equal or stronger TH than a /THF. Unless the level cap goes to level 180 anyway, then maybe there will be one piece.

See that's the thing. They've painted themselves into a corner. They can either break the new Treasure Hunter hierarchy thus rendering the reason for the nerf pointless, or they can keep the hierarchy intact but not add this gear thus breaking their word. Even adding one piece will raise Yuly and Falcorr to /THF level of TH II. That raises them to tier 3 of the hierarchy when they're supposed to remain at tier 4. Someone at SE didn't think this thing through very well, but that's just me being Captain Obvious.

1. Thief
2. Ranger
3. Support job thief
4. Other jobs

Ah ha. If this is only about natural job traits and doesn't include gear then there was never an issue and the nerf should never have happened. BST doesn't have a natural Treasure Hunter job trait at all. How does it access Treasure Hunter? By using /THF or through the use of jugs. What are jugs? Jugs are gear. Taking gear out of the equation means that BST can never rise above Tier 3 no matter how much Treasure Hunter Yuly and Falcorr have.

Wait....so you are telling me that a job that involves taming/calling forth pets to fight for you and, historically, has nothing to do with finding treasure is getting an ability that it wouldn't naturally have is getting nerfed?!?!?! /sadface4you

I would expect Corsair to get a TH trait way before BST. Be happy you have something that you shouldn't naturally have anyway.

BST doesn't naturally have Treasure Hunter. I just got through saying that. The 2 jug pets do because they are THFs. BST pets, historically, have the traits but not the abilities of the jobs they are. The only ways BST can access TH is by subbing THF or through the use of gear, namely jugs.

Eh, for starters it's not us that has a trait, it's our pet. Thf job pet. And if your saying a thf pet shouldn't have TH then you're saying a mnk pet shouldn't have counter, and a war pet shouldn't be able to double attack. Basically in the end you're saying that no pet should be in any way distinguishable from any other beyond their tp moves and mob type. TH, DA, TA, counter, whatever, it all amounts to exactly the same thing regardless of how much more useful one is than the other.

And ok, cor having TH may make sense, but why is a rng allowed to have exclusive rights to the second highest TH tier? That makes no sense from any asthetical point of view, or at the very least, no more sense than bst.
