This thread is for anyone wanting to see new jobs implemented into FFXI.
There's a list of challenges I forsee SE facing when implementing new jobs, as to why they may not do it, or may not be all it's cracked up to be. I myself would love to see new jobs implemented into FFXI.
-All currently released gear that isn't for "All Jobs" that the new jobs could use would need to be reprogrammed to include the new jobs.
-A list of job-specific gear would need to be released, with changes to events such as Abyssea and Dynamis to include these new jobs.
-For game balance, upon release the jobs would be best nerfed to start. Then as they test them out, release content that makes the job/s better without breaking game balance.
-Extra job-related content, such as job-specific merits, would need to be reworked to include these new jobs, whether upon release or down the road.
-The job would need something new and unique that would make it worth a new job rather than just add what the job would do to another currently existing one.
So, with these factors, I'd say at first a new job may seem amazing, but it would really suck when it first came out, with alot of gear not being available to it right away, no merit points categories, and a limited list of abilities due to the job's not being fully implemented right away.
The upside is, SE has made a comment in the New Years announcement about what they've been working on, including redoing the hardware, so maybe the game will see expansion in availability of additional full-scale content, like expansions. As someone who doesn't see much promise in WotG, I really do hope they show us something amazing, like the first 3 expansions, and the 6 add-on scenarios delighted us with. 99 cap needs some new grounds to explore, and I mean more than making current areas with stronger monsters, and not just battlegrounds, but actual new regions where you can free roam, with new critter models we haven't yet seen.
