Don't go after a Farsha. The damage/effort ratio is terrible from what I've heard due to the weapon skill being less then amazing. If going for damage get a Attack/STR magian Axe or two, if going for your pet tanking go for the Pet PDT axes.

Get Goldsmithing/Smithing as subcrafts for Alchemy, Marksmenship Ammunition is expensive.

Seconding this. A level 99 fire-based Astolfo and a level 90 Farsha have exactly the same base damage and delay.

This means that unless you want to invest a lot of a lot a lot of a lot of gil in your Farsha, all you're really gaining is an aftermath effect that comes at the expense of using Cloudsplitter. Just in case using Cloudsplitter isn't bad enough already, you lose some STR and Attack in the process.

    x3 Don't waste your time w/ farsha.

I have one, its not worth it. I use other axes.

If you want a legendary weapon, go for guttler or aymur.
Ruinator is the best bst DD WS.
Cloudsplitter looks really cool, but does less damage than primal rend. SE has stated that it is working as intended... which is junk. It is unlikely that it will ever be worthwhile.

For skilling, once you hit 120+ or so, skip those old camps and just go straight into Abyssea, I find the crabs in mist very good for skilling (there is a eph that roam nearby that will aggro to JA at night time - 22-6 though so take care there). You can probably pick up some xp while you skill at the same time.

I've been skilling/breaking latent there at the same time for my war's weapons (gaxe/gsword/scythe).

My BST been semi-retired for a while but I think if I were to go back to it more full time, I would look at doing either 1 or 2x -PDT and work up a -PDT set for my pet.

I didn't realy read this thread, but I didn't see it anywhere in scanning, but crafting doesn't realy exist anymore. Alchemy could still get you some steady money though. Everything pretty much comes from synergy now.
As for the axes, yeah, dont' waste time on the empyrean. If you're going to kill those mobs, do the bow. lol
A pair a PDT axes should only take you a day to do both. The hardest trial is the second one, bees, only because of the lack of mobs/weather. 60% of the trials can be done in Eldemine and another 20% in mount zylom(What ever the hell it is, the troll mountain.).

Ok so scratching Farsha, how about the Verethragna, is this worth it? I'll update my weapon selections for bst to one/some of the suggestions here. Thanks guys!

Also, I'm planning on doing alchemy just to do it. Not really for a money maker. I want alchemy so that I can also make my own pet jugs. I'll also look a those sub crafts, thanks!

Alchemy is a solid choice (just like that Monk weapon) but I have to warn you that many of the pet jugs are cooking side these days, as are petfood. Just something to keep in mind.

Would you say it would be wiser to cook for my own jugs, instead of Alchemy? And if so, what sorts of sub crafting would go with cooking? I would see how Cooking 100 Alchemy 60 would be a good combo.
