Drg on plate armor? wtf are you smoking?
er...
Ignoring unique armor pieces;
Non-cloth Armor (read: Ignoring magey cloth gear, and mnk/sam/nin gear because it's self explanitory), listed in order of lightest -> heaviest
Jerkin type (Leather Armor):
WAR RDM THF PLD DRK BST BRD RNG SAM NIN DRG BLU COR DNC
Harness type (Both Metal and Bone):
WAR MNK RDM THF PLD DRK BST BRD SAM NIN DRG BLU COR DNC
Scale Mail type:
WAR RDM PLD DRK BST RNG SAM DRG BLU
Chainmail/Hauberk type: (Note: Low level chainmail would appear to be lighter weight than scale mail, but the vast majority of chainmail sets are the hauberk type, which is quite obviously meant to be heavier than scale mail)
WAR PLD DRK BST SAM NIN (Note the lack of drg, and the inclusion of bst)
Breastplate/Cuirass type: (read: titular plate armor)
WAR PLD DRK
The only breastplate sets 1-75 that includes drg are Ares and Aurum. Ares is a unique set and shouldn't be considered the norm. In fact, that drg is on ares and bst is on skadi is incredibly bizarre, from an armor-type standpoint, but then again, pup got put on usukane, not one of the mage sets, so it's fairly clear that Salvage armor doesn't follow normal gear patterns. Aurum is bizarre as well, because it doesn't fit the normal gear patterns either, using a Chainmail/Hauberk type job set, but exchanging nin for drg, and dropping sam.
Post 75, Drg being on perle stands out as weird, since the pattern prior would have it on aurore (drgs can wear doublets, but not hauberks), but aside from that, they're only fiddling with job set patterns on unique, non conforming gear, which is something they've always done.
Sam, Bst, and Drg can't wear plate mail, except for rare exceptions that are exceptions to the rule. Washusmokin', yo?
