People are really overreacting, but also given tanaka's track record they may have a reason too. However, until we know the exact details of just how they're nerfing both ws we can only speculate (and let the tear's flow!).
In all seriousness, and I'm sure that I'll get flamed for this, but something had to be done. I've always been a proponent of balance via buffing other jobs, but that isn't the way this is going and this is how it's going to be. Still with another crit attack JT for war I still believe that war will continue to be the premier dd in the game, It just won't win by such a huge margin.
I don't know how to reply to this without being insulting. Maybe you've forgotten about skillchains or something, and the fact that you most certainly can't double light with Pummel.
This aside form the fact that Smite consistently outperforms Pummel, at least when used by myself. I can't speak for anyone else. Sure, I could be doing something wrong, but for whatever conditions I'm using them under, it holds true.
We're (or at least I'm) not trying to justify it. We're saying fix the problem by making the other jobs better, not by making WAR, MNK and to a slight degree PUP worse.I love how people are trying to justify 2 jobs being so good by such a huge margin that they basically render every other DD job obsolete except for procs.
OH no now that i'm nerfed it will take my Warrior and my mule White Mage 15 minutes instead of 10 to kill everything and their parents in Abyssea!!!!!

I like your style. I think they should apply this sort of problem solving to more things in life. Like when I go out to dinner, and my friends food is good, but mine sucks. I don't want to wait for the waiter to bring me new food. It would be way easier if he could just spit in my friends food. That way he doesn't have to deal with getting me good food and I get to have food just as good as my friends food. That's just the kind of guy I am. I really don't care about getting what I paid for, as long as the guy next to me doesn't have it any better.
This is really senseless since it should be a full on community versus the dev stand. We need to keep from going backwards because the VWNM mobs are NOT going backwards in difficulty they're only getting stronger. Alot of people have moved on from abyssea at this point and are redoing old content. Currently monk tanking and DD'ing alot of the content for the mythic weapon has been very useful and efficient and makes older content MORE ACCESSIBLE for players to do in SMALLER GROUPS since linkshells were KILLED in abyssea. I saw that I had 3-4 good friends and I stuck with them I found out there were several people just there for gear and several of those even worse to find out didnt know how to play their jobs outside of pressing macro's and being told what to do in Dynamis. We need to stop these retarded nerfs on anything and force them to bring the jobs up to par. Just because they nerf MNK and WAR doesnt mean I'm going to go level DRK, DRG, BST, PUP, NIN, DNC, RDM, BRD, RNG, or SCH. It means I may actually lose interest in the game if the nerf is too hard. I don't want anyone who's put effort into a job or gear to ever move backwards especially with the introduction of harder and harder content. We need all jobs at full capacity for better strategy development and ability to LOW MAN NEW ENDGAME. If it comes to the point that a DRG is better in one case than my MNK I may be tempted to level and gear it. But it wont EVER be my MNK got nerfed so I'm going to level and gear and equally or even more crappy job for the situation. We're at 99 now and some jobs didnt get anything but a nerf from 90-99. THIS IS NOT ACCEPTABLE and its not going Beyond Infinite or breaking new game its slapping a new number on something and making it worse. SCREW THAT. As a community we need to band together and put a stop to bullshit like this at once.
I've said it before and I'll say it again. Stop nerfing jobs. Start updating jobs.

One thing I find funny about the Blood Rage nerf and their "we will enhance critical attack bonus" comment is that it actually hurts other DDs more than it hurts WAR. Blood rage averages out to a 4% increase in crit damage for the entire party but Crit attack bonus III is a 3% bonus for only the war. Did they not think of this?

It's not about hurting other jobs, do not ever as player base allow yourselves to be turned against each other. It's that instead of buffing jobs SE is now nerfing them. This is a BAD thing as for awhile they've been buffing many jobs, and yes some more then others. If this was the old abyssea SE then I wouldn't think anything of it. But with this being Tanaka and crew, it's just the beginning. This will be the smallest nerf they do, the next batch will be much worse.
For example, take Cure V.
Right now many jobs feel that WHM is the only healer because it was Cure V. To allow more jobs to be healers SE has to buff their healing potential. OR ... they can nerf Cure V into the ground and kill two birds with one stone. Making other jobs more *viable* and making Cure VI more *useful* since V wouldn't be worth casting.
As retarded and brain dead as that is, THAT is how SE is thinking now.
