I think the mini forks are fine the way they are. It has been posted for over 6yrs - do not complete the mini forks quest, sorry you didn't know, however it's not fair to change it now for others. It took me 2 yrs to get the avatars - waiting to lvl BLM first so I could solo them! So one way or another you have to spend the time - running to battlefield or level another job fist so you can bypass the mini fork quest.

That is already understood by everyone.

I am sorry you had to level another job just to be able to play summoner. I can not imagine the programmers ever intended for playing summoner to be that difficult. This is an excellent example of what I am pointing out. Getting help as a summoner to unlock avatars is difficult.

I guess from the standpoint of helping others leech the wind at low levels to get them, but I'm pretty impartial to that. I had ls friends during my early days as smn who were willing to make that run to each cloister because they didn't want to do it on SMN. (RDM/NIN solo or duo with another LS mate was just as effective back then.)
So again, to level summoner you have to level another job that can solo the win? Should it be that hard?

I think the rest of the playerbase would find it easier to swallow if the mini-forks teleported you straight into the battlefield, and upon exit drop you back at the taru in the town. That way, you can use the mini-forks as many times as you want, without abusing them for other purposes.
I did not state the majority of the SMNs is visiting every cloister on a daily/weekly basis. I have not seen any summoners "abusing" them for other purposes. I personally help several times a month help summoners get avatars and/or evokers ring.

I find it interesting that NA players are so dead set against people getting help. Its not enough that it takes a lot of time to build enough fame to even unlock the ability to do the mini avatar battles or the prime fight. They also costs a lot of gil in items and gear to win the mini avatar battle. You all are assuming that every summoner has another high level job or that they should level one. Many new players get a job to level 30 just so they can unlock summoner for their main. I know that the game is designed so that they can do either battle - that is already understood. I know that the mini fights are an alternative so that people can unlock the avatars on their own - that is already understood.
I do not see the harm - give me one real example that actually happened where a summoner has abused the ability to warp out to the crystals. Where is the abuse?

That was in the past and this is now. You can solo any avatar with Carbuncle at level 90, now 95. There's nothing for a person to burn SMN to 90+ and just go get the avatars after. ( Obligatory edit: Except for Fenrir, Diabolos, Alexander, and Odin)

And no, even back then if SMN was your main job (like mine) you find people to help you. Like in my case, I had two SMN enthusiast who who didn't mind traveling to those the cloisters to help me obtain my smn who were up front about me NOT doing the the level 20 mini-trials because of the warp. So yes, I abused a loophole for teleport to the cloisters and I still do for easy access to places like Fei'Yin when I'm on SMN.

So don't get it twisted. If you get offended by this, oh well, but I seriously wonder why people find it SO hard to just ask for help from friends or people in their LS. I got told off in a recent LS I was in for never speaking up during WotG story line months ago. Seriously. Just ask for help from people you know or meet new people who are willing to help.

No, we're not dead set against helping others. It doesn't take 'a lot' of time to build fame (except for norg... hated norg)

For the rest of your post, see above. You're not taking it into account that other SMN like me and even those playing since the game released have already been through this.

If it's that much of a problem just find a high level SMN who still has access to mini-tuning forks to direct warp with the newbie SMN and smash in an avatar's face in three minutes flat.

It's a simple thing that you're trying to make complicated.

I personally never did the mini-fork battles because of this reason. It is unfair to reward people such as myself with easy access to the crystals and people who did the solo battles nothing. I suggest that after doing the mini-fork battle and winning, the player recieves a permeant key item that acts as the mini-fork for that avatar. This way, people doing the harder mini-fork battles are rewarded, not punished for having to attain the avatar this way. If this were done I would go back and do ALL the terestrial avatars mini-fork battles and it would be quite exciting ^^.

Still failing to see how it's considered a punishment for those who've done the level 20 fights and a reward for those haven't. It's simply an unintended loophole in which we use, like NINs leading in the tanking department over PLD. SE is under no obligation to open up warping to in from the cloisters because of this loophole. The logical choice would be for the NPCs to forcefully cancel the quest to use the mini-tuning forks once we already have obtained them to close the loophole, which is no real reason to do that either.

It's a case of being uninformed that's the issue.
