Augmented Ebisu rod.

How about an augment system for the Ebisu fishing rod, I'm talking about STR/ATT/+ Dual Wield + Store TP, etc. so that we can keep it equipped full time.

And have the quest related to fishing somehow.

Would be cool if lu shangs/ebisu could be augmented to benefit fishing though. And i mean the lu shang's owners who actually turned in 10,000 fish.

Agreed, a fishing buff would make a lot more sense.

Easy enough to just make any augments require that you have completed the quest.

Fishing should work like a ranged attack in combat. Give Ebisu DMG:100 rating. Also, let us equip a Rusty Subligar in the bait slot with an augmented DMG:50 on them. Tossing subligaria at enemies would give FFXI its much needed overhaul.
