What new Jug Pets would you like to see 91-99?

I think I need to go all in on a scorp(whichever one will get Sharp Strike). After thinking it over I don't trust SE to give me the semi-impervious fun factor of a slime. Or, if they do, it'll have 900hp.

Scorp, scorp, scorp. Based on the sheep, +attack works wonders.

Scorpion is my vote atm because it's only pet for now that have lowest chance to be nerfed as jug pet.

All BSTs should make a walkout and refuse to vote till we get detailed info about the jug pets below:

@Xbobx You are very wrong sir. It was stated many times by Camato that information from manifesto is just ideas and major changes can be done with them. Genbu jug was introduced as any idea for a jug that evolved to another idea which is making all god types mob as a jugpets with mechanics similar to Odin/Alex. There is a reason why Camate always says something like "(*Please note that names and descriptions are under development and are subject to change.)" on the end of the note. Obviously I might be wrong with Genbu too but none said it's written in stone that turtle will or will not be implemented as normal jug pet so none should not assuming either and even more important none should make an decisions based on that assumption.

Its not just bst Its not primarily bst at all.. I just think it sticks out more w/ a job as complex as bst.

And I agreee. Scorpion type pet would fill holes in a BST's ability perhaps the best amongst the proposed pets.

Camate i think we need a re-vote. This topic is too sidetracked by misunderstandings and misinformation.

Most people don't even realize that you are only planning to implement 1 of these pets. And are voting for 5-6 pets.

Other people think your last message meant "pick between slime and ruszor" when it meant slime and ruszor have the most votes atm.

And ultimately none of us have enough details to make this decision.


Just in case, we don't get more info, or a recount.

Let me break it down for some of you.

I guarantee ruszor wont keep its magic shield and physical shield. Why would they nerf our DT just to give it back to us in the form of a TP move? And the slug shows us that they consider healing from a particular element to strong to leave unerfed. If your voting for ruszor its a vote driven by wishful thinking.

If you want pure DD you should be voting for SCORPION. I promise you it will be the highest DD jug we have ever had. The damage of jug pets is largely affected by pet attack. Sharp strike is a 50% atk boost that lasts for 4 min and 15 seconds. This is 2 times as strong as berserk from warrior without the defense down and lasts for a whole minute longer. On top of that, it has Death scissors wich is a nice single target, and wild rage wich is a nice AoE, while still maintaining many debuffs. And on a side note, scorpions are immune to poison. This makes several NMs that used to be troublesome due to poison auras, much easier.

If you want another evasion tank with MORE offense, then you should be voting for HIPPOGYPH

If you want another physical tank you should be voting for SLIME, (please keep in mind we have lots of physical tank options atm)

If you want a strong DD (not as strong as scorpion but still high DD) with utilitarian options then you should be voting for HANUMAN.

If you want a strong magic tank you should be asking for a CRAB (keeping in mind we already have lots of tanks)

Until Camate graces us with more info on the parameters of the pets on the master list, all the other pet options are pretty much red herrings and thus potentially wasted votes.

The chance of the turtle jug is very possible, they have it planned, yes it is true they may choose not to, but its a very very good chance it is in the 99 patch, that is exactly what he said. They add that tag line just incase even if very small they change it so people dont flip.

I'll take the turtle and apkallu on faith for now, it's been mentioned as a "by 99" thing and so we got time to have it rolled out, tested and the like. Got is right about a bunch here. We simply don't know enough to answer intelligently. The needs of bst are pretty easy to identify however. With the limited information available about what the jugs will be like all we really have to go on is the bst progression chart of x intimidates y. Given that, what we need are a fresh aquan and the avian we've always needed. Apkallu will satisfy the avian, but it looks like not in the next cap increase, assuming it actually happens at all.

The hole for bst is something that can deal with magic damage, and maybe deal it out, too. That's why I wanted a hecteyes-or something comparable-from the beginning of this discussion. Bst has plenty of tools to deal with the purely-or even primarily-physical mobs out there in the form of -pdt gear and the like. Magic? Yeah, that's our weakness, and it's a pretty broad one. The only real way to deal with it is to rebuild an alt gear set, and some of the pieces are "either/or". Even then, we simply can't get magic defense on par with the -pdt because the mechanics are simply different. Yes, we can use certain jugs to defend against 1 element, but if fighting a nuker mob they can simply change elements and all of a sudden fatso's up the proverbial fecal watercourse without a paddle. We need a generalist... or something that can cast shell on itself. Crab is a possibility, but I never liked foregoing damage simply to have some defense. Hippos and monkeys have always seemed able to take a good bit of magical damage without falling to pieces, but it doesn't address our need for something that can fight something resistant to all physical damage. I'm not really sure there is anything that addresses all those needs; hecteyes seems like the best fit, although a colibri with the magic reflection thing would also fit.

So I can't make a clear vote if we are limited to ruszor and slime. Chime in with whatever thoughts you have, I'd really like to see what others think here. It's just that to me ruszor and slime don't seem to address a real need so much as simply being placeholder jugs to give us something 90-95...

All right, I am seeing people want to have a re-vote since almost all of you voted for multiple pets. We are going to this again (once and for all). Vote for ONE pet. I will tally in a couple days to see the result.

Unfortunately I can't really say at the moment what pet will do what, but assume that as long as it is not a special NM it will basically have the same properties as the original monster.
