This song was reported to have been heard from a bunch of Chocobo as they flew off of Abyssea shortly before the sky turned to a lovely shade of Apocalypse. Keep in mind it was translated Kweh by Kweh, so forgive the survivors of The Abyssea Chocobo Society if it isn't correct word for word.

I'm not sure about Mithra - those skeletons could lose their tails or something - a fate worse then death for a Mithra, but that's just rumor.

As for Galka, they reincarnate, and as for Tarutaru, they actually bury their dead in zombie proof containers, like any civilized people.

The in-game answer, the Hydra Corps was an international effort, but most of the rank-and-file members came from San d'Oria.

The probable real-life answer, it was just faster to program everyone as Elvaan since the Shadow family already existed.

I'm kinda holding out hope that they kinda add the lore of the game... into the game... I know, crazy thought.

Too bad popular game and movies release books that hold lore. Crazy that they'd expand the world beyond the game, I know.

There are two "shadow" families. Regular "shadows" which are just elvaans, and fomors which I believe were added with cop - though if hydra are actually fomors like wiki seems to claim I'm slightly less sure. A lot of people seem to forget that shadows aren't fomors, though.

In any event, at least elvaan shadows in tav makes some sense.
