Temporary Suspension of the Services Due to an Earthquake

There are 3 now? I kinda turned off cnn it was so bad yesterday I have taken a small break from news today. Last I thought it was 2. I wonder how much worse that issue will get before it atleast levels out.

Fukushima Dai Ichi has 2 reactors with problems

Fukushima Dai Ni has 1 reactor with a cooling problem (What makes this one difficult to read is the water level gauges are broken and staff can't get an accurate reading. If any part of the core becomes exposed even for a brief second, the reactor can meltdown just like Fukushima Dai Ichi 1 and 3)

Japan isn't as big of a country as the US. So it doesn't seem as large scale bc it doesn't take up a large portion of our country. I used those as a point of referance, not to bring up and cause arguement. If that earthquake hit Cali, and not Japan, do you think they would stop FF11 like they are now? or any other country for that matter. I sound selfless, but its just fact that you can't pause something bc its happening to you and not do it out of respect to others. I understand the not billing out of the fact they can't provide service, but many will expect, and including myself, a reasolution to stopping this from happening in the future if they don't plan on pausing the game for other countries plights.

Are you going to be mad because Toyota isn't producing another Vehicle too? Or how about sony shutting dow a major Blu-Ray manufactirng plant? Seriously SE isn't the only company to close its doors and quite honestly I'm pretty sure most Japanese are going to know someone who was killed in this tragedy.

They aren't "pausing the game out of respect." It's a matter of energy consumption because the hardware is physically in Japan. They didn't even do this until days after the quake, so I don't understand how you could believe that it is being done out of some kind of favoritism.

If the game's primary server was in California, and California was struck by a natural disaster which forced the state to conserve whatever energy it had for essentials, then I have no doubt in my mind that SE would do the exact same thing.

Why are so many people so quick to jump to the most offensive possibility they can think of? Furthermore, why do those people just assume that they are correct to the point that they actually argue about it?

The contaiment fields have held each meltdowns so far and reactor 1 is cooling down. Highly unlikely there will be a radiation fallout similar to chernobyl.

I agree with them shutting the servers down. I and I am also very ok with using Aprils fee for a relief fund. And the add on idea is a good one as well.

Myrla any word on Kami yet? I hope hes ok was glad to hear the Others were ok!! I haven't been on early mornings to see them around for a bit. My thoughts and prayers are with the people of Japan.

i dont think its so much people are arguing bout it its more that some people are saying to others there wrong. but the people there tellin that they are wrong are jus going BLAH BLAH BLAH its all bout me , but i get what ur saying

exactly , its not jus Square-Enix that is effected by this or having to shut stuff down. .
