    Also a very good point.

I'm surprised they didn't take the servers down sooner.

OP, you're a horrible human being.

Silver lining: all the people who were always short stones will have a weeks worth of stones when they come back.

I am reading this and especially this Quote by "Hordecore" and some of the responses that you have made here By Randwolf (respect) Mirage (Respect) to say Totally agree with the Action SE has made to shut down Sever for Humanitarian Reason's for the Calamity that has taken place in Japan and my Heart goes out to those Who have Suffered in this recent Earth Quake. "Hordecore" Im sure you are by now regretting your comment or was it for a reaction? well for what ever the reason there is more to Life then Game , Go out there and open your Eye's and take a look around at the out side world ;-)

I expected the shutdown right after the first desaster , to give us 3 days of gaming durin basically the worst desaster the country has faced is something i rather dont understand .
I think bout what would have happend if this hit another of the big nations , i think Japan is about the best prepared for such situations of any global player nation.
If this happend in the US or EU i think we could expect a downtime for a month easy (if it ever recovered)
As for stones collecting : servers are shut down , shouldnt continue to count stones on accounts and if u still would do gardening i think ur flowers wouldnt rott either XD

ps: i already went out , sun hurt my eyes , the wind felt strange on skin , i complained i want the AC to be turned off but no one replied , so i went to the ZOO to see a byakko to not feel alienated too much

Stones are collected by real time, not server time. When they bring the servers back up and reset the time you should have that number of stones on your character.

Dude your an idiot. The reason they are shutting down the servers is because their nuclear power plants are risking meltdown right now, people need electricity, and they can't have a bunch of servers sucking down a lot of power 24 seven as well as have in game support centers, etcetera. They have to do their part, and we have to do ours. Our part is finding something else to do with our time as we take (what is obviously something that you need) a break.

Do you know what's bull? The fact that you think you deserve to use Japanese electricity. The fact that you think your seals, or what ever it is you are doing, is more important than the Japanese having the electricity to make it through this week. Do you know what the biggest bull of it all is though?

That you never took a few minutes to read the stuff they put out last night, to find out what's really going on, before you started typing your greedy, selfish, uninformed, uncaring, and entirely irrational thoughts.

Please quit FFXI as soon as possible. I think I speak for a lot of people when I say that we don't need uncooperative toads like you in this MMO. You're getting a break from FFXI and a free month so that the Japanese can attempt to keep their lights on, their street lights running, their NUCLEAR power plants from overheating and possibly melting down, etcetera.

While you complain that you can't a computer/ps2 game called FFXI, they will be worrying if having their computer on for too long will mean that they will lose power in their fridges, in their t.v.s, their radios, etcetera. Japan's having a crisis, you're getting a week off.

    Grow the hell up dude.

Depending on a lot of things this could last longer than a week, possibly a lot longer.

If you follow the news from day 1 to now, they was under estimating the situation, also the problem with nuclear plan was still unsure, they lost control of 1 reactor that might end to melt down, and now another reactor is about to have same fate. I totally understand they huge need to save energy at this point. And i just pray that will not end in another nuclear disaster.

He is, he must be very ignorant and selfish. I just hope this 'free week of game' give him enough time to think about it. Also hope he will apologize of his ignorance and selfish person.

    My sincere sympathy to japan

A friend suggested this last night:

Donate what you would have paid for April to a disaster relief fund. The Red Cross has been very prevalent, but there are quite a few places that are also offering relief. Or, you can wait until April 1 and do it then - they will need relief for more than just the immediate future.

    ~

I was a sackholder in a Japanese HNM on Alexander. I know that quite a few of my friends are still safe. I don't know about some of them. Most of them have quit, but stay in touch. I haven't heard from a few since the earthquake happened. My friends that live in Japan that can contact people outside Japan (cell phone networks are wrecked, the internet is spotty at best, rolling blackouts make things hard, etc) are doing so and relaying information as they can.

Anyone - and I mean ANYONE - who complains about not being able to play the game should be immediately shipped to a disaster-stricken area and forced to help with the cleanup. I cannot BELIEVE - well, wait, I can, unfortunately, having played this game for years - that there are some people that are so narrow-minded as to think this will impact their lives on a bad way.

Go outside. Go to a library. Volunteer somewhere. Clean your room like you've been saying you'll do for a while. Go to class instead of skipping it for HNM camps. Call your loved ones. Be very, very, very happy that this did not happen where you live, and thank your lucky stars.

This is a REAL tragedy, one that will have ramifications for YEARS to come - not just in Japan but all over the globe.

Again - this is a natural disaster. "Disaster: a sudden calamitous event bringing great damage, loss, or destruction; broadly : a sudden or great misfortune or failure"

    ~
    Again:

Please consider donating even $10 via text message to the RC or a similar place. You already budgeted the money anyway - if every single person that played FFXI that wasn't Japanese donated, we could make a LOT of a difference - just think, your money could help some of those people that you've played alongside for years. (Many people seem to forget they are human beings as well, but not everyone, thank the gods.)

Sorry for the soapbox, and if you are the praying kind, or the kind of person to send good thoughts - please send them overseas for my friends - and everyone - that are missing. Thank you.
