I don't see any need for more jobs, I don't see any obvious 'gap' in the range of jobs now that would give a new job any reason to exist, there's already considerable overlap in all 'class' roles among the jobs we have.
An expansion though certainly would be nice, or I'd be happy to see content that's back in the 'real' world of Vana'diel and not yet another time/space dimension like Abyssea.
Yes, know the concept behind Abyssea but I don't feel it relates much at all.

for a real expansion you have to drop the PS2. The real question for FFXI is if SE is going to drop FFXI or drop the PS2 so the game can expand?

I think we need a job which wields a big club that smacks everyone still stuck on timemage. FF11 is FF11 is FF11. It's not FF1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,12,13 or 14, however much sepiroth clones may exist.
Time mage is more reasonable than necromancer. At least a time mage would be useful, just look at Scholar. Necromancer would just be a BST clone. Instead of charming a mob, you'd just bring one back from the dead. Why do so many idiots want a job that's already in the game?
