Gay marriage isn't allowed in japan and wont be allowed in the game, people need to just get over it and move on. It's not like you even get anything for being married, maybe if there was some awesome thing you'd get for doing it, it would matter, but there isn't.

Provided that a fish is able (meaning it's of the legal age, and mentally competent) to give consent, then yes, you should be able to enter into any business agreement with them, including, but not limited to marriage. However since fish do not have the mental faculties to give consent, or even have the slightest notion of what marriage is, it should remain illegal.

Also I'm not for sure what you, or the fish would stand to gain anyway. There are absolutely no legal benefits which you would be entitled to. Fish can't own property, they don't pay taxes, they don't have pensions, insurance policies, or other similar items for a spouse to inherit, and pretty much any medical decision you might need to make for them you can already do as a pet owner.

All that aside, no to gay marriage in game. The devs have better things to worry about than old, outdated content, that pretty much no one cares about, or has ever cared about. If it makes people feel better, maybe they could just remove marriage from the game completely. It's not like anyone would notice.

That's not rally cross dressing... The DNC attire looks a bit odd on Male Characters and even Galka but still I wouldn't consider it cross dressing.

I support this thread, not just because I support the LGBT community, but also because it's a game feature. Although I'm straight, I tried having a gay marriage because I jokingly mess around with one of the guys in my LS...marriage was the next obvious step in our little games - we had to have a fake one and it actually had a pretty good turn out. It doesn't necessarily have to be JUST about it being an LGBT issue either, getting married is a part of the game and not every male plays male characters and not every female plays female characters. A manthra and mithra for example. I don't see how people who have an issue with homosexuality could have a problem because it doesn't really affect them.

I understand cultural differences, but I think a game open to a world wide audiences would be open to cultural differences, not closed like for examples, cultures who accept gay marriage and are tolerant of homosexuality? As I say, it doesn't really affect those who are closed off, they don't have to marry a guy (or girl) themselves, they don't have to participate in the ceremony and I'd hazard to say that they wouldn't even know the 'M' above somebody's head is for another guy or a girl. Heck the girl they could be married to could actually be a guy playing a girl character (or the girl playing a guy character).

However, if this version of the debate remains civil, then I'll have respect for people on the forum, sadly, I know what people are like and if I were to bet money, I'd bet it going south. It's a shame, but sadly not everybody is mature.
