Allow for me to stand in 1 spot doing nothing, while gaining copious amounts of EXP that tops all other EXP gain in Vana'diel 10 fold.

Oh, sheesh... My bad. I forgot that's already in the game.

    This.

As for the OP's suggestion - no. Reason? This:

Abyssea isn't outdated yet XD, and returning/new players imo have it easier now than us before, since everything about abyssea is discovered and many ppl have better gear/atma that can easily help out these players obtaining necessary Abyssites/Atmas that make their time in Abyssea more efficient. IMO, staying in one zone for more than 1 hour is reason enough to build lights for TE in that zone, to minimize TS usage. (which is why it's advisable to make your abyssea activity by zone).
Capping lights really doesn't take that long for a small group, take a little time to farm some TEs if you know you are going to stay in the zone for a while instead of using a lot of traverser stones.

ONLY reason I say yes to this is they need to come up with a solution to counter the chest cap issue.

Areas that are overcrowded and reach the cap make it insanely difficult to get chests to drop even when you are capped azure/pearl.

Outside of that I say no for reason already stated.

I guess we need some kind of alternative/fix because they seem to be unable to raise the cap out of resources. I just dunno if this would be it, though it would be an easy fix.

I'll be honest. This is the first time I've heard of this. I've never had a problem getting a chest nearly every single monster once getting decent azure/pearl.

I never had it happen until recently when the server merged. We have issues when our thf gathers up a fuckton of mobs usually at cap azure/pearl 25-30 chests would drop. If the zone is at like 120+ people we've had it where only 6 chests would drop.

[edit] I made a thread about it a little back and the answer I got was it's a resource thing and they can't make more chests spawn. Which would imply we aren't the only ones having an issue with it.

One solution to helping out players who just bought the Abyssea addons is to allow npcs who sell Conquest Point / Imperial Standing / Allied Note items to sell a new item called Traverser Dust sold for 2000, which can be traded to Joachim for an additional Traverser Stone. Since I saw you can do this for Voidstones and Void Watch why not Abyssea.
Assume you get Abyssea on Monday at noon. You wait until the next Sunday, go into Abyssea using 1 stone, get into a party and gather TE and cruor. You stay long enough to get 120 minutes and 9,000 cruor. You buy 1 abyssite of Celerity, solo the Tonberry, and spend literally 10 minutes doing the Whisker quest.

At noon the next day, (exactly 1 week later), you'll have 17 stones and will be collecting them at the rate of 3 per day.

I don't see the issue unless a person wants to use mules just to 2box or collect KI's / pop sets. People who play in Abyssea need cruor, XP and base items which you get easily while doing TE farming.
