Can anyone confirm if you can buy the new collection on PC and then activate Abyssea on Xbox? I called SE and they told me I couldn't do that, but who knows if what they say is true or not. Before I waste my money, anyone please let me know if you have done this before. Do they send you the actual Abyssea registration codes to use or can you only download the game to the PC? Any help is appreciated.

I can think of no reason why you wouldn't be able to use the registration code on the XBox version -- although you would need an XBox game disc to install everything on your XBox and to actually launch the game.

Worst case, even if you have to use POL on PC to register everything, you would still be able to then use your POL account (and by extension your FFXI account with everything registered on it) on the XBox version.

WHat you are sent is a single registration code that, if used on an existing account, will register all expansions, add-on scenarios, and battle area add-ons available at the time of this posting. Including (but not limited to) all three Abyssea add-ons.

However, the install data is PC-only, and (at least for the steam version) you have to begin the downloading process to view your registration code. (You don't have to fully install it, but it has to begin, which will affect any retail FFXI you have installed, and may mean you can't view your registration key on a Mac.)

But really, even if you don't have a PC of any sort, you could borrow a friend's or go to a LAN cafe that has (or will allow you to install) Steam, have it downloading FFXI for 30 seconds, look at your registration key, cancel the download, and you should be set.

Has anyone been able to buy a European version of this somewhere other than steam? Since I'm in the US steam wont let me buy an EU game, /sigh.

If you're replying to me, then you should know that this collection doesnt come in a box And an american code wont work with a european game (I had to buy an EU + NA version of WotG for example)

Using Tor to create a swedish account still results in the same error. Suck less SE/Steam.

EDIT: looks like POL was updated with a couple of european places to buy, so guess i'll just use one of those.
