Considering most people do other things now

Why not tone down the insanely long respawn times of the old nm's? Things like Charybdis, Khimara, the shade NM's in the Oubliette that drops Ascalon. Things like this could help newer players maybe get a shot at some decent low level stuff and not have to worry/bug other members for money if they can't afford a mediocre piece on ah. Are you really hurting anything by making these timers not as long? (48-72 hours on an nm barely anyone hunts nowadays is just absurd)

and only encourage more third party abuse? no thanks. maybe dropping dropping min respawn but maintaining maximum.

I'm still waiting on them to remove the 3-person entry requirement for all Assault-related activities so I can solo AP on my own time, or finally get my Ashu Talif attachments done for PUP.

It's not like the zones are hardly getting used at all, so the solo/duo'ing traffic shouldn't hurt it.

Wouldn't want RMTs to corner the market on the AH for Joyeuses, after all.

Do what they should have done to begin with. Get rid of EVERY NM and change them to forced pops.

FYI, unless it's a purely time-based spawn, there is no such thing as a "maximum" respawn time.

When they say 8-16 hours for Charybdis, it doesn't mean that after 16 hours of killing PHs you're guaranteed to have Charybdis pop. It just means you are really unlucky as hell if you manage to go that long without seeing it. It's still possible though.

They should change all the old Nm,s to 10 min repop and increase PH based ones to 100%. As for regular mobs everywhere they really need to make instant respawn now a days. Even inside abyssea you can struggle for mobs as they dont repop fast enough. Nothing wrong with the forced trigger method using local mobs for force pop items.

But remember, some mobs don't have 'local' mobs, such as Khimara where he's in the middle of a clearing with no mobs, how would you force pop him? To be honest you would have make him an exception and and just do a shorter respawn time?

The best solution would be two-fold:

Placeholder pop NM's would still be Placeholder popped. When a placeholder dies 0-15 minutes is 0% pop 16-30mins is 33% pop31-45 mins 76% pop 45-60 mins 99% pop 61+ 100%.


NM that aren't PH popped would take be popped by a universal Rare item for that region.

1% drop from too weak
3% Easy prey
7% Decent Challenge
10% Even Match
13% Tough
17% Very Tough
25% Incredibly Tough

They can do w/e they want with the ???. It can port around, it can have a random respawn of 1-10 mins, it can spawn multiples. Just as long as access is fun and simple.

Thats what i meant when i said change all NMs to 10 mins. Basically anything thats on a timed pop should repop in 10 mins.

Question: Why can't we decide on things for a game we play? I'm pretty sure the other nationalities would be in agreement with this, and would increase competition for the bigger NM's.

To make sure that the devs see this, I'm going to advertise this on my server to be looked at. Even if we can't have a poll, we can still vote via posts.

Honestly and please feel free to laugh at my mentality, but that's not how you encourage newer players to go after stuff. Do you think anyone would go after an nm that has a 48-72 hour pop window? No one has the amount of time irl to camp like they used to.

Kill off lottery spawns for old NMs, just make them pop with items dropped off the regular monsters of that zone.

SO much of this. Seriously, for a game where SE-for the most part-blocked PVP why do we all have to be in competition to beat content like NMs, especially those that are required for progression? I thought I was supposed to be killing the NM, not fighting "Bob" over there for today's chance at the NM's drop?

Not only that but it kills the community when your nm gets stolen and the person stealing who was once friendly has turned into a complete asshole.

i guess im lucky as ive never had a mob stolen from me. that said if i give up claim for w/e reason i deserve to lose the nm. if i dont use block aid to stop people from using cure to grab hate i deserve it took from me. any nm not in seekers isnt that hard. and if your friends are stealing from u then find new friends ..

Never said friends, and I mean that a 48 hour - 72 hour pop hnm that you seem to have no competition for, goes completely awry when out of nowhere a PLD flash pulls it -right- at the second when it pops. Not only is that unsettling, it makes users feel like their hard work is for nothing. So anyone who goes "It was tough for me so it should be tough for them" Seriously gtf over yourself already. This isn't the stone age anymore so if SE can't compromise with their playerbase to get rid of these absurdly long repop times for items that are mediocre compared to the newest equipment then I'm sorry but it's either something changes or they keep losing customers.

Bump, so I had a brainstorming session last night and I got to thinking, perhaps if they did a KSNM thing with some of the old HNM's like they did with faffy, behemoth, and ada. Like for Khimaira there's a fight where you can get a pop item for him. It wouldn't be easy to get, but then again it wouldn't be impossible either. People would actually have a chance at getting to it, so devs PLEASE consider that. Also with Hydra and Cerb, those could be just like the previous nm's. I could even take the time to put in things like the name of the items used to spawn said items (Such as something along the lines of a Honeycake -since it was used in a legend where Cerberus was lured to sleep with a drugged Honeycake) it would at least fit, and eliminate the stress that current players face who want to get their hands on some of the older stuff, and of course help their friends.
