Im pretty sure people have been doing gear swaps for longer than 2.5 years.

Now Rosina, projecting yourself on me is no way to deal with your problem.

Look at yourself before you point fingers. Gear swapping has always been around. Always. You claim I have a bad attitude, but again, all I've been doing is calling out the fallacies in your arguments. My attitude is just fine. I log onto FFXI to play with friends, and I have fun doing so. I'm a competent, efficient player, and I use my gear to its fullest. Again, learn to appreciate other people's views, because your accusations have absolutely no base and will never hold through.

Oh, and don't tell me to "grow up". If that is seriously your only comeback, as proven in any other argument you've incited, then you've got a whole lot of self-assessment in your life waiting.

umm cuz in actuallity gear has little meaning. I mnk/dnc tanked in cheap level 50 gear and cheap hand 2 hand @ 75. Didn't die. @ 75 I solo an IT fly in caedaver mire as mnk/nin just from a well timed 100 fists, Only to kill my fly befor landing the final blow on the parties fly. And our whm (my b/f) didn;t need to cure me more then once. And my gear was not the greatest. Gear only slightly enchances your skills and you need to stack it to really see a difference.

nope gear swaping got big after wing was out. I've been playing since ps2 days. And the first sightings I seen on my server was aroung whitegate areas. Then it got bigger when wings was out. Now it is enforced to no end. And giving people poor attitudes like the onews mocking me,

it was my matt fight on drg... i use a sleeping pot with opo neck, waitied till i got 100tp, ate some sushi and ran up to matt and realized i didnt have my spear equiped.... still won tho

@ buffy I have a learning disability and at times It is hard for me to see every error. But i can't say more or it would look like I'm playing victem. If the ps3 had a spell checker that would help me out tons.

And realise not everyone will play the same way. But are good/ effient in their own ways. I'm great in how I play. Your great in how you play. Just because I'm not playing like you. To me and my group fun = getting stuff done efficiently. We are all pretty casual players, so the time we spend on game has to be efficient. I'm not going to log onto the game and waste a popset for Sobek because I was too lazy to get out my HP/evasion set out for DNC. Wasting that set we worked on the day before wouldn't be fun.

Does this mean we are elitist, because we are trying our best as a small team to casually get us all Empyrean weapons? And to "try our best" also means to gear properly for what we are up against.

i'm sorry that you have a learnig disability, but people are giving advice here to make the game easier and more comfortable for other people, if you actually don't like this, it would be a nice behavior if you stay quiet instead of starting a fight.

here is the thing, end game doesn't appeal to me because of the poor attitudes people had. Oh the stuff I tanked @ 7/mnk/dnc was the avatars. Also I out lasted a pld as a dnc/war on an aggro zeegraficowmel (trying to lighten the mood as an appology) befire the dnc updates. this was @ 30. And the h-effer kept doing that OMGNOTAGAINWTF does. (i forgot what it was called so put that for s and gs) again in sub par gear. and 1 dinky dagger. The fact I did outlast a pld on a omgwtf fail sience made that thiggy as a dnc/war is still a shocker the pld tanked it down till it was 50% then died the wtfisthatjcomawd healed itself to full I voked it with both voke and my loldnc voke, and just kept myself cured.

Well a lot makes sense now.

well i lead an EG shell (back at the 75 days),

we did sky einherjar dynamis

and with dyna - xar 8 ppl farming i think we performed pretty well.
there are a couple things which in fact make such things possible, a good strategy, skilled people (knowledge of job, how to gear use it and to get the maximum effeciency), good gear (farmed in previous announced events)

i'm not that bad of a person I just dislike the assumptions yall have on effeciency. I've done alot if stuff in poor gear. Just mostly timed my skills well. I also take alot of pride in my jobs to make sure my skills and timing are at peek. Not everyone wants or can get tones of gear. To say other wise isn't very cool. Never assume anything.

Sorry for the tude on my end, just years of crap i had to put up wuth just poored out. I'm a misfit in a sence I do not play like everyone else, but I am good at what I do. Even if my gear isn't the greatest or I do not gear swap. That doesn't mean I cause a wipe. I have seen gear swapers cause wipes. They are the good gear bad player.

Just do a favor and refrane from insult a person saying they suck and waste time for not playing like you. That is a childish thing to do.

i did end game also. I hated it. I had a P.A make personal threats while on runs and he was given a perma get out of jail card while I was forced to quit. Never did end game after that.

Like I said actually watch me play befire making a judgement call.

Poor attitude is calling someone dense over a style of choice or making judgements of how a person play with out ever actually seeing them in action. I do not do end game for a deifferent reason, and it has liitle to do with gear swapping since when I difd end game not everyone gear swaped.

I recall saying that you could be doing better at what you are doing with a few swaps. The way I said it may have been snappy, but I said it all the same.

You probably got into the wrong endgame shell. A lot of them are full of assholes with epeens that can touch the moon, but there are also a lot that respect people's effort and time.

My first endgame experience was bad as well, but I didn't let it ruin it for me.

i thought this was a place to lol at nub mistakes that EVERY player on this game has at one point in time and if u havint then you have never even played this game and shouldint even be on these forums!

with that said casting diaga in a crab party in the dunes with a bunch of leeches around is the fastest way too kill off 5 other people in ur low lvl party... was my 1st pt... and i didint know what an aoe was.... good times

I was PL a pt of 6. I had pulled a group of goblins so they could pick them off me one by one.

The BLM casted stonega and died. All those delicious exp mobs depopped ;; but I couldn't stop laughing.

Assuming i'm not a good player because of how you assume I play. And for not gear swaping. using terms like mediocre, or assuming I cause wipes. (never have tbh). I do fine with gear swaping. I find it annoying. Abd to me worthless when I did try it. (was playing my b/fs pld and boy idk how he plays it. his macros were all over the place I was like WTF.....)

If you're not gear swapping, you are doing it wrong.

On WAR, I've seen a 3k damage difference. (Ukko's)

On BLU, I've seen a 1.5k damage difference (Quad. w/o CAEF)

Gear is the difference between a good player and a poor one who doesn't really care. I've told several newer players, or inexperienced players about gear swapping, and how much it helps, and they ALWAYS thank me afterwards with results that simply astound them.

I mean, rosina, you talk about getting help for stuff, or giving help as it would be, but what in the world do you need help for? Storyline? It's almost all duoable, if you're good. I have a feeling though, that with out correct gear (Cure Potency on healers says hi, while hMP sets or Refresh sets outside Abyssea also wish to say hi, or also having a good Stoneskin set says hi) you'd be doing a great job.

I'll kick you if you don't gear swap, even if you're a great friend (DEATHGOD IF YOU READ THIS GET YOUR ****ING TP HAT OUT OF YOUR STORAGE YOU MORON), I'll tell you to FIX IT, because you're making ME look bad.

1. <stpc> is NOT the same as <stpt> (or <stal>).

2. "I play to have fun blah blah blah" - newsflash!: one person's idea of fun might not be identical to another person's idea of fun.

A lot of players' idea of fun is optimizing their performance, being as efficient as they can be at their chosen job. Gear swaps will enhance, most of the time even greatly enhance said performance. It's not about "taking the game too seriously" - since when is wanting to perform well the same as taking it (whatever "it" might be) too seriously?

Personally, I find it very satisfying to CureVI someone for 1650+ hp (in Abyssea, obviously). I also find it very satisfying knowing I have capped gear haste, and I love seeing those big ws and nuke numbers. I really enjoy doing stuff in game with my friends, whom I know I can trust to be efficient and good at their chosen jobs.

3. For the love of god, giving us an example of how "good" you are not using gearswaps, by telling us how you killed an exp mob as mnk/nin using your 2hr - that's just plain ridiculous.

4. You volunteered the information about your chosen playstyle. And it's an inferior playstyle when it comes to performance and efficiency. Don't get all huffy and try to defend that inferior playstyle when you're being called out on it. Play how you like. Just as the rest of us, who use gearswaps, play how we like.

was in a party on my mnk in CN, exorays kept agroing us and killing us, we where about to call it quits when our pt ldr(brd)
said "we can do it we just got to belive" next fight we got our asses kicked and she d/c's her self, what i learned that day was
just because u belive do something will not protect u from 2 crit hits for 500 and a and a dark spore attack for 1k dmg.

on side note a bst friend of mine was lvl 53 15 times in one day back when bst had to solo and exp was a bitch
