Get rid of abyssea

Rog, What do you consider more of an accomplishment? Inventing some new gadget which you have put all your time and effort into tweaking and testing to perfect it which gets worldwide praise, or getting some gimmick sword that does nothing but increase your DPS by a miniscule amount after months and years of sitting around and waiting for something to happen?

F#@% your Riddill, games shouldn't have to mimic the tumultuous grind of real life.

The former is of course the greater accomplishment, however the latter is also a very impressive one as well.

For your "everyone else," play the way previous to abyssea. Evidently if you can't find enough people to play the way you want to play, it shows how many more people were ready for a change than you thought.

That's the bottom line. There is no more mid game. Everything to do is in the endgame. So people don't want to spend weeks/months trying to level to experience that section of the game.

I never said anything of the sort. I love old school stuff. It's just that I'm not gonna waste my time hanging out waiting for no one to do things when other people enjoy Abyssea. I go where the game is, I don't wait for the game to come to me. If everyone is playing basketball, do you want them to get rid of basketball so YOU can play Football?

But there are still those of us who really enjoyed playing the real ffxi. And i'm sure there are more of us than you think. Most people don't really like abyssea as much as they liked the real ffxi, but they just do it because it is the only way they can play the game at all.

The problem isn't Abyssea. The problem is 'the rest of the game'. There is no incentive to engage in content outside of Abyssea. Figure out some way to draw players back to the 'normal' content. I have no idea what that would entail, but the game would be fixed.

Abyssea is a fantastic way for high level players to speed through their exp grinding in order to do what high levels want to do: quest and adventure for great things! No reason to remove abyssea. It's fantastic! The only thing I see wrong with it is early access at a level as low as 30 when the only reason to go into abyssea at that low of a level is to leech.

If the game would've stayed the same, I would've quit due to boredom. Grinding sucks. It's a common way for mmo's to lengthen the time of a player's subscription instead of giving them something to do. I think it's very brave of SE to try to make the game more about activity than simple grinding. I applaud them for this. I thank them for this. If you can sit still and do the same events for 8 years, then by all means, have at it. I'm one for innovation, change, having things bigger and better, and moving forward. Again, no one is making you take part in abyssea. Your "real ffxi" is still there and waiting for you and your group of "Most people don't really like abyssea as much as they liked the real ffxi."

It would've been better if you started a thread trying to find like-minded people and tried to gather together on the same server to continue playing your "real ffxi."

I haven't come across anything "hard" since I've played the game. I either roll with a group of intelligent people that know what they're doing, or I lead an intelligent group of people that know how to adapt and listen to instruction.

The three years before WoTG was when I saw the most amount of people drop like flies from the game. I guess they were sick of the "real FFXI" as well.

That is not true. I just asked 3 friends, and they all said abyssea is horrible, and never should have been made. It is pretty obvious most people agree with me, and only play in abyssea because no one wants to go back and play the real ffxi.

If enough people hated abyssea and want to do something outside abyssea why don't you then. Its not that hard everone just asumes everyone wants to leach jobs and do abyssea for gear so they do not try jack outside abyssea. There is also the thing how old end end game gear is not as good as abyssea gear. Another thing you have to look at is how old the game is and how offen people did all the old stuff and finished it. If you truely hate abyssea and do not want to do it try harder to get people to do jack outside abyssea by like shouting or verious other meens. This hole game is not abyssea.
