At least he is being positive, which is what a community needs. By being negative you're only making yourselves seem immature and unwilling to actually provide legitimate help to the community. Thanks to the OP on some nice tips for when I hit 50![]()

Oh wow never thought to use Holmgang but now I know what to do!
Really helpful and thanks!
the reason he made this thread b/c of the reason he stated in the post.......Not everyone hates WAR...so help those that want to be helped... that has nothing to do with getting "shat on" ....The reason he even made this thread is because he continued to get shat on in this thread.

Anyways. Ran into another link by some guy that did an awesome job detailing loads of tips for tanking in general. it's a heavy read but you can always skip to the sections that matter to you. He has a General Tanking a Pld tanking then a War tanking. Do what suits you
http://www.daevaofwar.net/index.php?...sjob-analysis/
And again to War defense. Though there maybe argument for End fights about WAR ability to stay alive. In dungeons; if you want a speed run... you want a WAR; and one that hits hard and fast. Broke or not Broken; WAR is still useful.
yea the holmgang is key in some good fights
take the WAnderer's Palace. Boss one and Boss two are 100% resistant to Stun; but not Holmgang
Boss one always toward the last 35%ish of Life does 2 or 3 aoe directed at party. This is bad for party...but good for you since you have at least 8-12 sec right there where you're not being hit. However you can holmgang for either your or the party benefit.
Options 1
Save your own Ass the trouble: after the Mob does the two aoe toward party reposition self outside his direct sight and lock him for 6 sec-- that's a total of 14-18 sec no HITS.
Options 2
Be the Hero: Lock him in place either before he starts his two WS cycles or inbetween them. He'll actually still attempt them even though you lock him in place...I don't remember if they are on target though??? Someone check and post a reply
Don't think I saw it so here it is :
Holmgang is awesome on demon wall as it prevents your from being knocked back.
Another Tip
Brutal Swing
This is one of your best moves; yes one of your best moves in game. It has a 30 sec recast but is not effected by GCD (global cool down). This means you can string it with any other attack to increase DPS by that much each 30 seconds. (Everything counts. Like having throwing axes bk in 1.0) Even if the mob can't be stun it will still do dmg equal to a Heavy swing.
Another thing about Brutal is if the mob can be stun, always stun on the move; either going through the move while swinging or quickly around him. The benefits of moving while using this skills is most mobs can't hit you without directly facing you. This means you get a 6 second stun turned into a 7 sometimes 8 second stun (...yes seconds; but again it counts in a long fight)
And Another
Storm's Path
Heavily under used skill; however if you well establish hate it makes for a nice small regen. Think of it like cutting the mobs regular hits in half every second hit.
Let's say you hit the mob for 200 per Storm's Path; however just to execute a proper combo it would take 2.5 sec *3= 7.5 sec. Surprises you to know most mobs dont hit every 2.5 sec; more like 3 or even 4 sec.
So lets say you vs a 4 sec hit mob which hits for 450 regular hits
that means every 8 sec you'll take 900 dmg
But at the same time (if you already have no hate issues) every 8 sec you'll also take 100 HP bk
Which in turns appears like you only taking 800 dmg every 8 sec; in that example that's a 11.1% mitigation
(note: my GCD is down to 2.39 with food and there are gear to make it go down more if you wanted. In my opinion after Vit Str, I prize speed over critical, determ, parry, etc. B/c this class is heavily dependent on landing our skills; and landing them on TIME)
the longer the mob take to hit you; the more you dmg you do with Storm's Path; the higher the mitigation factor
