Things Needed: AFK timers, proper que, world transfers, better DF system (this patch hopefully fixes)

WORLD TRANSFERS: You need to make some form of incentive for people to leave populated servers.
I think a lot of japanese players are upset with the amount of english speaking players on Tonberry and Tiamat, I hope they move so my friends can join.
I have a free company with 140 members, one of my friends is on Ifrit, another on another server.
Why would anyone play this game without being able to play with their friends?

The oceanic community chose Tonberry as their home, and Tiamat as it was full.
Maybe an OFFICIAL Oceanic world would help?

Please stop complaining about it being an issue for "prime time" Oceanic players (and Asian players) dealt with this for Western MMO's, nobody complained because they understood the situation.

Do you REALLY want all the Japanese players to populate onto the NA servers during downtime if they scheduled them separately? are you really prepared for server crashes and constant login issues again?

The North American branch has nothing to do with the game FYI. So the Devs which are all in Japan will be doing it on their time, not your time. This will be how all maintenance will be handled, if you don't the door is right there and don't let the door hit you on the way out.

Why is the NA data center doing the maintenace during prime American Hours during Japans down time?! Is this going to continue, one time was cute this is an unacceptable time for NA/EU.

Because if the two data-centers aren't synched correctly, that is, use the exact same configurations, then login issues akin to the error 90000 into an unresolvable 3102 due to your character being lost in limbo can happen. That's because despite the game-world servers being separate there is only one login server (Because that enables NA players to play in JP servers).

So yes, they need to enter maitenance mode at the same time.

Actually talking to my partner last night we kinda figured there are no servers in North America just a data center with the hard line to their servers in Japan. So shutting it down during their business hours is the only thing that makes sense. They should really be a little clearer understanding that we backlash at the mention of what others perceive as minutia...we take our gaming seriously! :-)

I believe this is the case, I can't see why EU can't have their own Datacentre also if it is.
