there arent as many as this makes it seem as is

canvas kit? velveteen kit? we already have those, its called fent

as for armoror what i was getting at there is that it takes squares/nuggets/rivets/nails and various other things, armoror is the only one it really gets bad in

and a few other items out there take some odd ones(weevil bow taking weevil elyrons is a good example)

when it comes to repairs though, and something that isnt common, the BEST solution for people is to carry the mats to have people repair their gear themselves.

I can repair anything in the game almost, and let me just say, i dont carry odd mats, but i carry everything else. and id gladly repair anyones weevil bow, random armor piece or whatever if they had the mats to do so.

the problem is people expect the repair person to carry everything they need(also add in the fact some people refuse to pay what those items are worth but thats another story altgoether) even if its a rarer item.

I'm not sure how it is on other servers, but during peak Japanese hours (usually late night - morning) I've had no problem getting multiple items repaired in almost no time just by sitting by the repair NPC in Ul'dah waiting for crafters to browse my bazaar.

It's not the most convenient, but it's by no means a problem if I am saving an easy 200k minimum in repair bills.

    Heya!

I'm writing this as a casual player who wants to experience anything in the world of Eorzea, and I try to keep my Hand classes over 20 so I can be auto-sufficient on repairs.
If I have to go to an adventure, I take my axe and my bronze/iron nuggets for when I need a repair, and go kill stuff.
Even that, my armorer is not so high, so when my armor deteriorates, I have to ask somebody in the world to do my repairs, which is also fun! I trade them 10'000 gil at least for my equipment and the repairers are really happy about it.

I go take a repair from the NPC when I have to hurry up for sticking with my LS/Team mates. Saying that in this game the gil is too much of a piece of cake, which means it's not a problem, lowering the price of it will keep players with even more money, money that the players will not know what to do with, and the gil will lose importance and valor.

    See ya!

The only problem with repairing now is the fact you have to take off your item to get it repaired, other than that I find repairing to be painless.

I actually came up with the repair kit idea a long time ago Clicky HERE

For those who don't want to click ^^

    Repair system made better

For repairs I would like a "Repair Kit" that could patch up the item to 75% and could be used by any class and rank to repair any item.

Then I would have people who repair things properly and use the correct mats a chance (5% or something maybe) to be able to +1 the repair. This could give the items 125% durabilty until it drops down and is repaired again. You could even take it further and give the item the stats of a +1 item until durability dropped to 100% and so on. This would encourage proper repairs and still allow people to patch up items while out in the field.

Hmm, I am only just now realizing at 4AM a few days later, that I spelled Convenient wrong. Sorry about that. I liked a lot of what you had to say about repair kits Alexia Kidd. Cairdeas, I'd still like to see your idea for it fleshed out too, if you haven't already?
