1 cup o' java done, and the fog is starting to clear... No headache either
Edit: 54 in EU chat let's see what happens
Here is the message I sent. Granted, I wrote it while my blood stream was without coffee, so... yeah.
Could Final Fantasy XIV fail again due to Square Enix's poor customer service?
After waiting on hold, via telephone, for 5 hours yesterday I thought my collector's edition account would be placed onto my correct service account. Due to poor communication and wording, there are many players who accidentally created two service accounts. There is a 300+ page thread about this on the official Final Fantasy XIV forums. Square Enix has remained silent, refusing to comment upon the huge disaster that is Square Enix customer service. Personally, I've waited for a total of 6 hours on hold on the telephone. After 8 attempts to get into a live web chat with customer service, each time I reach #1 in the queue, I'm told there is no one to help me. I've sent in numerous tickets, each one is closed, without actually fixing my account. My desire is simple: merge the unwanted second service account with my original account. It should be simple. However, I've spent days trying to track down someone at SE to fix this issue and I'm not alone.
You can find threads here on the official forums: http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...ervice-account
There is a similar thread on Reddit about these issues: http://www.reddit.com/r/ffxiv/commen...e_account_now/
Right now, the only way I can see players getting any help from Square Enix (extensions on early access grace time, lessened waits for customer service, etc) is for the press to pick up on the massive issues affecting this game. Hopefully, you can also spread the word, so that out of fear of bad word-of-mouth, Square Enix acts to satisfy paying customers who are being held hostage by a poorly designed code redemption system.
Thank you for any assistance you can bring to this matter,

Edit: going to copy/paste this onto their FB page, brb
Posted to FB, let the shitshow commence!
E-mailed the 3 companies above. Let's get this done folks.
I'm still waiting for this to be fixed for me. I'm starting to get super pissed off with this situation...I don't blame the 1st line support that takes in the tickets, but I blame the rest of this so called support that should handle this situation now and not yesterday or so. Haven't been able to play for 2 days now and haven't heard a single response to my problem tickets about this issue. I would have bought a 2nd key, but oh well not possible because the digital downloads are closed, which is super awesome....This is just bs...

Do or do not, there is no try.
still 5 in 5/1 chat, down to 45 in 5/2 chat, also opened up a 5/3 chat, wherever that is I dunno, but I'm currently 9 in queue there. Seems to be going down at a very slow speed, indicating that maybe a human being is on the other end.
They better not give me that can't merge accounts BS. If they can't do that, then just apply a CE code to my original account. That's all I want, what I paid for.
Waiting won't solve anything. The numbers they give us are arbitrary and not reliable.
Start e-mailing every outlet out there. For the love of the game, destroying their customer support rep will surely urge them to reconsider their approach. In the long run it'll be worth it.
LOL - Here's hoping it actually does something, as I think they don't really care about comments on Facebook / Twitter as everything there is full of anger towards SE's customer service and server downtime.
So, what are the other major gaming news sites? We need to put this on blast everywhere we can.
I also emailed their public relations department. Every person listed on the press page got an email as did the form. Here is the link:

What is the link to your FB post? I'll go and chime in there, too.
